Audiority's Ursa Major Space Station plugin (forget the exact name) does dubby old school reverbs.

I'm a bit surprised at how little attention this one has gotten. The demos really do sound lovely.kraster wrote: Sat Nov 18, 2023 7:53 pmSoundbetter Butterfly effect is an absolute beauty when it comes to cloudy granular reverb.Neon Breath wrote: Thu Nov 02, 2023 2:04 am Sinevibes Albedo, granular reverb.
Very unique sounding and as far as I know, it's the only granular reverb available beside the one in Kyma.
I think it's the best granular reverb in existence, imho.
It has three reverbs in one. A shimmer reverb, a blurred delay and a more conventional reverb. Both the blurred delay can be frozen. The blurred delay can be fed into to a filter that can be quantised to a musical key or automatically swept with an inbuilt lfo.
You can side chain it for ducking and you can set the ducker to only operate on certain frequencies. It also has saturation on the input that can be run in 8 bit mode.
It's very deep and sounds absolutely glorious.

This came out recently, and it's only $15 https://shift-line.com/astronautplugin! I also fell in love with Tritik's Irid. Get it now while it's on sale!

Not sure if it’s a „weird“ reverb, but I do love Box by Fors (M4l only, unfortunately. Part of the Kit pack).
At high feedback values you get lovely, well, feedback, which you can tune by adjusting the room size and/or obliterate with distortion. You can automate all that and it’s glorious, it’s more an instrument than a reverb if used that way.

+1 for Tritik Irid indeed.
Also, Unfiltered AUdio TRIAD is worth a mention, too : there are several weird reverb models, and, along with multiband and modular processing, it's a great toolbox for weird reverb

Also props to whoever made the demos. Being able to bypass the plugin in "realtime" in the demos is a great idea.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 11:29 amIt is beautiful indeedcthonophonic wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 4:00 amI'm a bit surprised at how little attention this one has gotten. This is an absolutely SUPERB reverb! Wow!! Never even heard of the company before so this really blew me away. Thank you so much for mentioning it here!Korg Supporter wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 6:15 am This came out recently, and it's only $15 https://shift-line.com/astronautplugin!
This really deserves it's own thread or something. It's basic skynet algorithms are really unique yet good and useful sounding. Superb for pretty much exactly what one would imagine, creating a vast swathe of space around a source! Having tremendous fun just playing simple synth sounds through it. Lovely reverb tail and decay.
EDIT: Warning, this plugin is quite prone to crashing. I've had it crash on me now multiple times so it's not good enough at this moment to use reliably. Sounds lovely though. I contacted the developer and hopefully we can get it sorted.

Does the new VertiVerb VRS23 from Audiority count as sufficiently weird against the slew of "modern" reverb plugins?

It’s a shame to read that it’s prone to crashing because it looks really cool. I still want to play around with it though. Hopefully they can update it soon to make it more stable.bmanic wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 5:40 pmThis is an absolutely SUPERB reverb! Wow!! Here is a quick little audio example of Shift-Line Astronaut Reverb in case you guys are too lazy to download the demo. Yes it crashes quite easily in Reaper on Mac OS Big Sur here but damn is it worth it still.
Space Worship (Astronaut verb OFF) (Google Drive, mp3, 2.3mb)
Space Worship (Astronaut verb ON) (Google Drive, mp3, 2.3mb)

Maybe a bit out of place because it’s not recent.
From the early KVR days one of the best reverbs when i need something in a small space or jump out in a big space is Tila. It featured 3 bands (low mid high) with separate decay and eq controls. Though, the current Tila download (free) has been minimized and somehow doesn’t sound as strong as the early gui-less version. I’ve asked the coder for the old release but he no longer had the source code. It’s pc only too. Again, it’s a free plugin so if you’re on pc try it out.

the Reverb Shaper within shaperbox 3 is amazing for weird verbs. The sound it self is convolution based so it's as weird as the IRs are. There is plenty of weird IRs in the factory presets but you can always add more. Where it really shines is all the modulation capabilites. Couple this with something like the TIme shaper or liquid shaper and you get into wild sonic territory real fast.

More of a delay than a reverb, but (Sinus??) Multilens, v1, kicks everything else's collective ass for weirdness and wonderfulness. Multiple delays, each with filters and LFOs, plus distortion. Put it after Crazy Diamonds or Cheeze Machine and you had all the subtle or savage psychedelic goodness you could ever want. Although a good IR could certainly outdo it in some respects. Cheers.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!
