The Control A/B/C/D knobs on the perform-tab are not moving with MIDI.

Also, the ABCD knobs are not stored in presets and not in the DAW project, is this intentional?

Atm, yes. Currently they are just remote controls for MIDI Controllers. We'll spend some time figuring out if these can be like macros and where to make them available. Maybe via preferences, so people can adjust them to their workflows.

(figuring this out is part of this beta release... things we need feedback on)

Looks like I can't select one point on a curve if that is rightmost curve in a curve set.
rightmost curve only selects whole line, and only option to shape a desirable 2 point curve is to add third point.

On image above I only selected one point, it selects whole line.
P.S. as a workaround I can create curve somewhere else and move it to the end, it works.

Looks like something's wrong with default presets last curve.

In this case, a straight horizontal line, the first and the last point can represent the same point. So you select one, you also select the other. The curve itself really only has a single point then, and the second point is visualised as a ghost image of the first point.

Trust me, when I wrote the editor I came across so many mind bending things, still explodes my brain sometimes.

Some of the presets produce no sound at all for me.
The 808 Designer preset crashed Cubase several times, but then worked.

OSC's have preset "Default 6 Shapes" last shape out of those 6 shapes are wicked, not only it consist of redundand points, but also it represents something very strange..



for example left top point disappears completely when move little bit down (not touching 2 points)
lower point is also have 2 points almost in same place.

but ok, not a big deal after all, I will just detele that one right away and save another preset,
because I think it will start to move by itself and evily smile on me at some point

If you zoom in deep enough you'll see there is still very thin pulse shape. When you touch something, I guess it might move just a little bit onto a Grid line (snapping!), lining up points on a vertical line and then all points except first and last are removed.

Fully agree, I see these knobs very similar to the 'perform' graphs in Zebra2, and their settings were saved in the DAW set, so I think the knobs should be preserved between sessions. I've created a new track with several Zebra3's and every time I load it, all knobs are back to zero and I have to re-adjust.

BTW, a huge shout-out to these amazing beta presets. Congratulations to all people involved, I've already played around with them for hours and got so many ideas...

Good point! But I did check for slow attacks. In this latest instance, "Architectural Glass" did not produce a sound. Another time I remember it was "Random Odds and Ends". It is resolved by closing and opening a new instance of Z3. I just ran through all of the presets and, this time, them all seem to work. So, it's inconsistent but I'll leave the comment up - there may be something that needs to be looked at.

That said - how amazing is this thing!? Hands down the best sounding, most powerful and flexible softsynth I've ever come across.

It is resolved by closing and opening a new instance of Z3. I just ran through all of the presets and, this time, them all seem to work. So, it's inconsistent but I'll leave the comment up - there may be something that needs to be looked at.

Had the same problem, no sound from some presets and the 'perform' tab showed that keys were still seen as pressed down although I released it. Had this twice, restarting everything each time fixed it and I was unfortunately unable to reliably reproduce it. This is on Win11, VST3 in Ableton 12.3.

The Control A/B/C/D knobs (4 MACROS) are not saving with presets and stay where ever you leave them (PC, Reaper x 64 everything up to date). Why no labels under the macros? We need to be able to label them!! Please, NO MORE THAN 4!

I can also reproduce this, 808 Designer being the most troublesome (often silent on Win11/Reaper and instant crash on ArchLinux/Reaper)

Is it known that importing presets from Zebralette to Zebra3 doesn't work for all parameters? LFO settings aren't copied in full, pitch of OSC 1 is set to KeyFollow and not to pitches 1 so the transpose settings aren't working, no FX.
