Yeah, but that's my point. It's the freeze engine that needs changing rather than bolting on a mixer. It'd be nice if you could do a track freeze that allowed you to select which filter in the chain you wished to freeze up to. That'd be really cool.
The forthcoming M-Audio Ozonic looks very tempting - a firewire audio interface/MIDI keyboard/Control surface all in one. Oooo
That's cool!
Mixing as you go is good up to apoint, but I still find that I need to concentrate on the mix stage once all the tracks are basically done and in place.

I actually like doing this in Tracktion too, but I do think that its at this stage where an optional mixer could be useful if it could be opened in the lower part of the screen.
I guess the trick is how you would represent sends and the like. Tracktion could take the rightmost level controls to be the track fader, so that's easy enough. Racks though would make life difficult for doing anything other than a level fader mixer. :?

It strikes me though that the large view metering shown on the T2 specs page could also be pressed into service as a large view meter and level control. Click a button or something, and a large vol/pan appears on the track, with a large level meter to the side of it.

Thinking out loud here of course....
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!
