Can't be arsed to vote for any of the two.
Neither one would ever make me even THINK about switching to 96, not even for a test.
As with all the other recent threads, my personal bottomline is: Learn to mix first, when you mastered this, let's talk about better equipment, higher samplerates and whatever...

Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Maybe in 44.1 and 96 - to compare in an actual music context.

Very intersting topic.
I still have not made up my mind wich part sounded better. As I´m struggeling with my computer resources I´m not going to switch to a higher samplerate soon. Maybe the differences are not as big as a lot of people suggest. It would be great to have a few more and different Sounds and sequences to compare.
So thanks again for this topic, spaceman.
Keep it up.

Well I voted for the one that sounded like it had "higher quality" to me. Whether it "sounds better" (if you see the distinction) is impossible to say. Frankly, I think the muddier one would get used more in actual music.

Hi, new here.
I´m surprised, it´s a debate at all. If you focus on the "hiss" part of the sound in that patch the differences are incredible.
Wheter one is better or worse I think allways depend on musical ussage, anything goes.
Also my impression is the image is more detailed in the second example, or maybe I should say more 3D. but the hiss !! it goes down in volume a lot.
Question, in Nuendo you need to switch the proyect to 96, or simply an audio mixdown to 96 will do it ?
