OK, I nailed the problem down to not getting your kits to work. Could you please point me to the wavs I have to dl?
Thanks

If you already have the NSkit soundfont you only need the free sfZed editor (see here http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html) to extract the wavs. If you don't, go here http://naturalstudio.co.uk/ns_kit7freedownload.html and download it. Note that there is a commercial version now (I just found out). I hope they didn't change something in the free version

If you try to convert it to sfz format I think it will (or ask you if you want to) extract the wavs

What a great beat!
I might be inspired to write something around it.

I 'll be glad to hear it! Check the automation on Rednefs tremolo speed.

Actually not strange at all.Beardedone wrote:I don't believe I have ever recorded audio into Tracktion. Looking at it now, I am wondering if there a way to insert compressor on the audio input? All of the filters seem to be post not pre.

Strange.
There is no way to insert a software compressor pre audio input on ANY computer based sequencer. The only way to do this is to use a hardware compressor before the sound hits the soundcard.
Think of it like this ... the soundcard turns an analogue signal into bits that the computer can deal with. How can a software compressor squeeze the signal BEFORE that happens?
If the signal is too hot and distorts as it hits the soundcard you can use as many expensive software compressors as you like, and you'll still get distortion.
If you believe it can be done in Sonar or Cubase or Live, i'd like to hear how exactly that works.
I've been away for a week or so, glad people have been getting something out of this thread, i must make a contribution myself soon

Right Sorry about that. I was expressing myself poorly. What I mean is having a toggled input echo like in Sonar, where at low latency I can monitor input processing. How is this done in T2?

I think you're talking about End to End. Make sure it's enabled on both the main button on the display, and on the audio input itself (you can turn it off per audio input, if you like)
Click the input to bring up it's property panel in the context sensitive area, and turn it on there.
If i'm on the wrong track, let me know ...

Plat would do a nicer picture, but this should cover it ...

As for what it is, well, it's a toggled input echo like in Sonar, where at low latency you can monitor input processing.
For more info see page 22 of the reference manual, which you can get to from the help menu in the edit tab in Tracktion.
