mdrive is free too. Actaully I've been playing with it for the last .5 hour. I like it more and more. Not too drastic. Greastube is free as well. I can get an mdrive sound from greas tube but what I like about mdrive is good sound with two knobs and low cpu

unfortunately i can't find mdrive from developer site

today I'm gonna try other plugs:

wurr audio tube booster is really good and flexible
silverspike rubytube didn't convinced me a lot
xeet street comprimere is good, but definately not what i'm lookin for---> it adds loudness and some *subtle* crisp artifacts--->think good for mastering pourposes.

It's not really tube emulator, but I'm getting grerat sounds out of the saturator in Live 5 demo. Is there a simialr VST?

p.s. a new version of greasetube is highly desireable...that plug sounds really nice to me, I didn't have time to see any potential bug, just sounded right, only thing i noticed is the too small sized gui:
man, have to wear glasses to see where those sliders and buttons are?

Got some other stuff going but I am "home alone"
for 9 more days so I guess I´ll do some serious
programming during this time and I don´t have to
invent too much in this case but I´ll also kick in
an extdended mode with some other algos that I
had from some experiments so... within a week?
