Ben plugs his stuff _a lot_. But to his defence, he's quite modest. It's not like he said "our stuff is the best filters" or anything like that. he was more along the lines "you might want to check out our stuff".

To me, there is no "best" filter, but there are quite a few that I like:

Analog: Juno filter, Moog, ESQ-1/SQ-80, synthesizers.com filters, even the Poly800 filter was very powerful.

Digital: Waldorf filters, VAZ filters, Emu Z-Plane filters, Clavia filters, Kjaerhus Classic Auto-Filter, PSP Nitro.

Yeah it's quite far, Uppsala is much nearer to Stockholm. It's about 530km between Uppsala and Gothenburg.

Still, it's not like he stated that it was the closest thing you/they/anyone could get to a Sherman Filterbank in software. He only said that other have said so.

i can't really decide what's worse. developers trying to remind people of their products or those hardware fetishists praying the analog paradigm...

my fav filter? 303, of course (and uh, the one in, ahem, Bass Line)

The Fabfilter, Minimonsta (ohm filters in general really), sherman filterbank, Access Virus, and Nitro.

I admit to being a fan of the 303 filters too

Doesn't mean I use them anymore etc, but they were possibly one of the more distinctive filters ever made.

Orgon Energiser filters were very powerful.

OSCar and impOSCar.

MS10 and 20 (I prefer the MS10 slightly more).

Moog modular filters (although I don't like Moog standard synth filters at all)

Sherman.

And last but not least, a 100% s/w set of filters. Short Circuit (would be better if for example they allowed custom made Eq morphing filters instead of preset-only) - not that keen on the standard res filters, but those Eq morph filters are lovely.

Coffee filters - I'd be lost without those.

I'd like better spam filters.

Their controllers actually run Emulator X then. To be honest do I actually want to spend more money on their sampler, my cpu gets raped enough as it is!

Also why would I buy a hardware controller and a sampler just to get some nice filters, thats without even going into the stability and timing issues with it.

Looks like more hassle than its worth to me.
