Heyo, great job on this beta! At first I thought this version was missing some of the balls the alpha version had but after adding some res q and drive from Ableton's native saturator I'm getting pretty great results. I did really enjoy the fatness of filter 4 in the alpha though, I am going to miss that. In general the alpha was a lot cheekier and wild which I really enjoyed but the cleanliness of the beta is quite useful as well. Will the alpha still be available for use, maybe just to licensed users?

Also, does anyone know what the filename for the manual is on a mac or where it is stored? Can't find mine for the life of me. I blame this mostly on Finder as I can't seem to find any-damn-thing on my mac anymore.

It's a known issue with the gamma setting on Windows. It's not just the Undo buttons. If you want to work with a different gamma setting on Windows, just set the gamma value, then close and reopen the GUI, and it will look ok (until you change gamma again).

simonfloris wrote:Actually I just want to use the arp,
I'm playing a chord with the initial patch, change the arp to up,and i see the leds in the keyboard bar changing, but that's all.
I only hear a constant pitched -note.
There are a couple of bugs left in the arp and sequencer section, so you might come across some oddities.
The guys are putting a lot of work and sweat into solving the remaining issues.
But the arp only playing a single note after activating it (when using the init preset) sounds odd, indeed.

simonfloris wrote:Hi,

i just noticed that when I change the LFO to Host Sync, the LFO controls do not change appearance (as suggested in the manual) but instead the modulation source labelled as "LFO" is coming from the Clock Control ( changing the rate of LFO does not has any effect anymore).
Is this a known issue?
The manual is not up-to-date on every section, it is still work in progress. What you mentioned is one of the things that have been changed very recently, but there was no time to rewrite that section of the manual yet.

The manual is not included in the installer yet. You can download it from page 1 of this thread. But as already noted, it's only a draft, some things are missing, some things have changed, some need to be updated.

@Urs in case you missed it what's the deal with using the public beta in tracks meant for release? And in relation if i buy it what's the situation with license transfers if i do encounter issues that are not fixed during the PB?

I get the price is for risk but given the cpu hit would be good to know if i was able to sell the synth should there be performance issues or whatever. I saw your post about the cpu being halved so not overly concerned, just wanted to clarify these things before i buy! :tu:

I don't know what u-he does, he does u-well... he adds the thickening and the quality. Oh the quality... I put this in my tune and of course the little melody and nice delay helps but this synth says.... "I am one of the centre pieces of this track" I AM HERE !

Just like Diva does. Thanks for taking it next level Urs.

What is the "this is just right" secret you use Urs ? It;s all in the numbers I guess.

I bounced the parts with effects just in case.

I've a resolution to not switch my Make Noise Shared System on until Repro is finally released.

(I'll be in modular heaven all December - I hope)
Please turn it on and be inspired by Echophon and Erbe-verb. I really miss something like that in software.
Wait, aren't those available as plug-ins from Tom Erbe's Soundhack project? Not inside a patchable environment though.
I don't have either, but isn't the supposedly unique aspect of the Erb Verb module that it smoothly morphs between reverb algorithms? Is there any other plugins that do this?

Otherwise is the only special thing the extent to which the parameters can be modulated? And U-He plugins aren't averse to a bit of parameter modulation already.

To my ears the Erb stuff are some of the few modules that make new modular sounds that couldn't have been done by Morton Subotnick and Co. many decades a go.

Would it be possible to add some additional gain somewhere, mybe in the preferences? Maybe something like +3dB, +6dB and +9 dB (while mostly +6 dB should be enough).

With Diva i never seemed to have the problem that it is too quiet.
I've used the Sonic Conditioner once or twice where this became a problem, but I agree more output would be a "nice to have." The Sonic Conditioner adds some saturation, so it's not clean gain. If it were possible to add another 6db to the output knob's range without breaking things, I think it would be worth adding. Otherwise, I'll just compensate elsewhere.
If the volume is low, then the limiter gain is pretty clean...

It would be great if the changing of the FX order was reflected in the GUI
Mac Studio M4
15.7.3
Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

What limiter gain? The Sonic Conditioner effect? That one adds saturation. Is there another limiter in this I haven't found yet?

Depending on the preset, another alternative would be to use ResQ in EQ mode.

There are many commandline and script examples
for recursively changing filenames. Abique probably
has some up his linux sleave.

http://superuser.com/questions/538161/h ... 671#858671

http://serverfault.com/questions/348482 ... -filenames

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... irectories

There are also linux gui apps that can edit filenames,
on selected files in a folder. Launch the thunar filemanager
from a booted avlinux dvd, with thunar -B, (B is for bulk)
browse to, and select the desired files in a folder,
and choose from the various operations like

Search & Replace
Remove Characters
Insert Overwrite

Works as advertised.

I modified a Repro-1 preset, and luckily got a nice string-pad sound
playing under the sequence, are you sure it's totally a monosynth?

Agreed, but I'm too exhausted to do this right now. I'll keep it in mind for a nice future update.

Hehe, RePro-Alpha is and was free forever - as long as you have it and as long as your computer can still work with it.
