Now... can someone recommend me a great filter with an envelope follower? I have a couple of free ones but nothing is really taking me where I want to go. I'm also trying the MIDI route with some of my existing filters but any input would be much appreciated.
or filterscape

A year later and I still feel the same way. Fabfilter filters are defiantely my favorite, and I really like the filter in Minimonsta as well. I'm using the OhmForce filtesr less these days but I do still love them.
My second place choices are ImpOSCar and I do like Antti's too. Little Frantic actually looks like a very nice little filtering plugin. Fabfilter Volcano and Fabfilter _______ serve my needs though.
Occasionally I use Sonalksis TBK too. It's a nice, small, and very easy on the cpu and sounds pretty good on acoustic instruments to me.

No I meant specifically an fx version of Foorius - I know about Frantic and also have Filterscape but I love the gui on Foorius and it has greater FSUP potential for me.shamann wrote:There is. Antti's filters are in Basement Arts' Frantic Filter.aMUSEd wrote:The filters in Foorius by Antti (should be an fx version of that)

Whatever happened to that angry little man who was developing that Vampire filter? The demos of that thing sounded very good.
My favourite available filters are the ones from FabFilter. The OhmForce filters are quite nice too.
Cheers!

fabfilter and ohmforce/gforce here too.
relative to them i dislike filters that have a weak and thin reso with a zippering cutoff, or a powerful reso but with no kind of sat or compensatory response to stop it peaking out whenever you hit a harmonic.

IMHO the GRM Tools Classic and ST filters are quite good.

I like Melitta's best - the sound of fresh coffee dropping through them - simply breathtaking!

Dang, gotta dig out that Enigiser clip once again.
What a trip down the memories-you-wanted-to-forget lane reading this thread from the beginning was
Xhip definitely.
FabFilter stuff.
Antti's filters in Asynth
Korg's filters in MS20
Vaz' K and R filters
Those are worth mentioning. So, pretty much no change in the last year...
And the overdrive part in Minimonsta is still damn impressive!
Any Vampire users out there? Whatever became of it?
