To answer your second question: Yes, Gig Performer UNLOCKED does go on sale on at Plugin Alliance for $99 from time to time. And depending on the sale and if you have a loyalty voucher, you can have it for cheaper. I bought a copy for $49.99 in July using a $50 loyalty voucher and another copy for $24.99 in December using a $75 voucher.

To the makers who were good enough to reach out and answer my question directly, I thank you. I respect your decision. I'm also a hobbyist who doesn't make a dime from music, yet chooses to pay for software rather than steal it. I like the model where people who need the software pay full price, while those who would like it wait for a sale so that they can afford it. I've spent thousands on software over the years, but apart from Reaper, I don't think I've ever paid full price.

With software, the right price is generally what people are prepared to pay for it, and I wonder if a Reaper-sized price tag would increase your sale volumes enough to create a net revenue increase? That's before you consider the value of revenue from a wider user base wanting to update to new versions.

Also, who thinks NI will discontinue these synths after this offer?

Too late for the promo now but I bought them a few months back. You get one code and it's NFR. I kind of regret buying them to be honest, especially with the recent discontinuation stuff.

Just curious of how many months back you registered it?
I know their regular policy for awhile now has been to not allow any transfer for the first ninety days from registering it. And there's no indication otherwise until you get to the "transfer license" page to see what you can transfer. This being a "Komplete" product, it makes sense that it would be one serial number and that they're inextricably seen as one product. Is there anything on the website denoting it as a strict NFR though?
(I bought the 'Classics' to combine with selling my Maschine2 Studio, so I don't plan on even registering anyway. Just want to keep updated on the info I'll need to pass on to the next owner.)

Regarding NFR licenses, apparently they can't be used for commerical stuff. Only for demonstration etc. I actually won a license for Komplete 13 in a remix competition but it's NFR so according to NI I can't properly use it (or upgrade it).

NFR is Not For Resale. You will be the last owner because you can’t sell it. That’s it. I have upgraded NFR before. Check the webshop to verify you can upgrade

I can't upgrade my license and NI support said to me:
''Any Products from Native Instruments labeled or otherwise provided to a user as "NFR" shall only be used for demonstration, testing and evaluation purposes. NFR Products must not be used for commercial purposes, and must not be resold or transferred.''
This is a license I won in a remix competition sponsored by Native Instruments. Turns out to be a PR stunt I suppose?

Check again once Komplete 14 is released. You should see upgrade offers then. Not sure if you should be able to upgrade to Ultimate and Collector’s Edition.

As for what you’re allowed to do with the license you won, check with the organizer of the competition. Sounds unlikely that you can’t use your prize freely.

Generally speaking, NFRs are also given to the press and influencers. There, the policy makes sense. A review item should not be used commercially. There are a lot of products which license from the likes of Heavyocity, Softube and others and their royalties are calculated based on each license sold. In your case, it would have made more sense to give you a full license. Sounds a tad stingy to give you an NFR.

In searching my accounts at both PiB and NI, I've found nothing saying it's either a "promotional" or NFR license though. And if anyone can point me to that, I'd appreciate it. Simply for my own edification since I have no current plan on registering or keeping it. Maschine has many presets that include Massive and I feel this was something to be sold with my M2 Studio to sweeten the deal.
I've pretty much reached an "end of relationship" with NI and just doing my best attempt at mitigating my separation from them.

They were bought by Meta (Facebook) last month so perhaps they are transitioning to the dark side and sending out serials so customers don't have to rely on being able to log into their (old) accounts to get them. I'm speculating.

You mean Slice EQ - which is separate from Carve EQ - and different from crave-eq (which would definitely be worth it as a freebie, but I suspect is unlikely).

Interesting. Once I sold off my Komplete licenses, Massive is no longer there to load in Maschine. But the nag error prompt of it failing to load in certain libraries respectively comes up every time.
And no, I'm not personally interested in Massive at all except to eliminate that nag error box. It's one of theirs that I ultimately decided it's a sound I don't care for. I bought simply to package with Maschine for the next owner. (And therefore, have not registered it.)
Out of the four included products, the only one I would be interested in is Absynth. A bit put off now by the fact that NI owns it...
