I have to thank you guys for giving me the incentive to get my old 1971 Marshall Super Tremolo head fixed it was just a loose connection and a blown resistor across one of the power tube sockets, I'm an old Rocker and have had 4 old Marshall's a 72 Super Lead, a 74 MarkII, and I think a 75 the first year with a master volume. I sold all of them and 2 four twelve cabinets a long time ago except for the Super Tremolo. The only thing I can remember about them is that they were louder than hell. I started using a Peavey Classic 20 amp for recording since I stopped playing out a while ago the amp was nice but was limited to only a few tones. I bought a Zoom 10 channel recorder that had some fairly good guitar sounds, then went with a Vamp 2, then got Amplitube and recorded some blues rock stuff in Sonar and was happy with the guitar sounds. I also have an old Carvin 60/100 watt single twelve Mesa Boogie clone that needs to be fixed. That Marshall had been sitting for over 20 years, I plugged the Marshall into the 12" Celestion in the Carvin, tried my old Les Paul Custom and it was just really loud and I was having a hard time getting a good tone. Then I plugged my Strat in and it screamed, instant Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and it Bit Like a Rottweiler, and cut through the mix like a chainsaw. I'll still use amplitube and Vamp2, but for Blues Rock the Marshall is the way to go. Thank's again guys!
