yep-the whole upgrade pricing scheme is very generous.
Kudos to the Spectrasonics team!

Hopefully they release plenty of demo MP3s. I can't find any demos on the Omnisphere section at all. Maybe in the next few days. I want to know what this thing really sounds like in a musical context. I know demo tracks don't say everything but they give me a pretty good idea.

The spectrasonics site says they will not put emphasis on releasing audio demos of Omnisphere.benjamind wrote:Hopefully they release plenty of demo MP3s. I am sure they will have plenty of audiodemos as soon as they can find the time producing them

Are you serious? No audio demos for their new flagship product? That to me is rather strange because audio demos really do say a lot about a synth, a lot more than mere words and teaser videos, believe me.The spectrasonics site says they will not put emphasis on releasing audio demos of Omnisphere.
I have no doubt about Spectrasonics. They have ALWAYS released phenomenal stuff and never cease to amaze me with the quality of their sound. They don't need to convince me, that's for sure.
But the more skeptical amongst us may need to hear it to believe it, so to speak.
They did audio demos of Atmosphere, so I can't see why they can't pull some off for Omnisphere.
I will be making some demos of it's capabilities myself when I have the time. I do plan on buying Omnisphere when funds permit and that will be pretty soon.

Was really hoping there would be a proper demo version with 1 - 2 instruments and the full synth engine to test. It's really hard to justify spending $500 US (probably $700 AUD or more) on something you can't test (or even hear?).
I did read on the site FAQ that you can have it demoed for you, but who are we kidding, that is really nothing like demoing it yourself in your host of choice.
It does look amazing and I seriously interested, but even the site is lacking lots of info, the demo videos showed wave shapers and a few other cool features but I can't seem to find enough on the official site

I really hope they would release a demo version with maybe 1 gig of samples.
A synth of this magnitude simply cannot be truly felt just by looking at videos and litsening to samples. One must have a hands on experience to fully evaluate the synth.

Agreed. But I seriously doubt Spectrasoncs will do it as AFAICT they have not done so in the past. Hopefully they will reconsider.adamtrance wrote:A synth of this magnitude simply cannot be truly felt just by looking at videos and litsening to samples. Find a shop and demo it there...soundpalace wrote:Was really hoping there would be a proper demo version with 1 - 2 instruments and the full synth engine to test. It's really hard to justify spending $500 US (probably $700 AUD or more) on something you can't test (or even hear?).

Yes it is, however $199 is no value whatsoever. Big Ooops for Spectrasonics.Broken wrote:I'm very happy with the upgrade price. $149 is excellent value
