For example to analyze the hardware throughly like he did for the filters (depending which models he would choose for the oscs). I prefer it this way for now, let the technology mature and who knows what Andy will come up in the future. That said, can't wait for tomorrrow! I will be the first in line!
i'd be happy with 2 bog standard digital oscillators (which produce allready perfect sines, saw, pulses at all ranges)...no need to emulate any particular synth model. the dsp for good oscillators is there since years. white noise might be more tricky (for some reason white noise sucks in most softsynths, especially when put through some resonance it dries up in a nasty digital way)
in any case it was really mainly just the filters which needed a dsp overhaul (as previous filter dsp of the past 20 years was flawed). so with the drop he's done allready 90% of the work towards a synth

Confused

cos i have not much use for filters by themselfs .
and i'm not gonna run oscillators from another synths into the drop and complicate my life, no matter how good the drop is.
if i bought it i'd probably just use it for self oscillating sounds or for some high pitched noises from the lfos (which i believe go into audio range?).

I can't wait to try this out. :)
Does the LFO have a "1-shot" mode?
If the LFO is set to bipolar and is routed to the VCA, what happens when the LFO hits negative values?

Sorry for all the questions, I guess I should just wait and see.
There is no one shot for the LFO, but I did consider it. With the swing time and multiplier of the base rate one shot mode could get confusing. You can scale the LFO level from Env1.

The amplitude modulation from the LFO is always uses the unipolar output as the source.

Update on the "exact" release time: I'm working flat out to get the release out either late tonight (+8 GMT), but there is still a lot to get done so it may take till Sat night to get finished, it's hard to tell exactly, but I'll make an announcement here as soon as it's ready.

The gui is now done, and I'm very happy with the results. I've been looking at banks of generic faders the entire time during development, which really it isn't very inspiring.

I've still got a few more things to tidy up and test in the DSP because of some of the changes I made during the final GUI design phase, but right now I need some sleep. There will be something ready by 6pm my time tomorrow night (+8 UTC), if not before, so just one more day of work to go.

This is the culmination of several years of work, so thanks to everyone for your patience.

That is a significant thing, even aside from the results, which are also easily impressive.
Most people do not go that hard, or even try to.
Sincere congratulations. :)
