You aren't understanding my question and my question isn't for you, its for peter. I was only mentioning SY99 as an example. Your question isn't hard to understand. I'll bet you actual money that my understanding is correct. You select samples by loading a patch that has those samples. Your ability to mix and match "oscillators" is limited to the layer level. That is, within a single layer you cannot select a sample from two different synths. In fact, you cannot select a sample at all. Your ability to select samples is defined completely by your ability to select a patch.

Too bad some of the positives about Syntronik had not been discussed like;
-sampled oscillators means low CPU hit.
-ability to mix and match filters and oscillators
-tonal quality of the filters (based solely on the audio demos)
-ability to layer 4 synths
Instead, seems like the thread is dedicated to complaining about how limited it is....

LOL! Wags, you making it hard. Read Peter's description. You load a patch into a layer, boom, you're done! That patch will have some number of sample oscillators. That's it, that's all the control you have. If you want a single oscillator in a layer, you load a patch with a single oscillator into that layer.

yes on the filters, Its not entirely clear to me yet that we can totally mix and match the oscillators. It might be that we can only layer the whole instruments, but within each instrument they might be limited to the oscillators that were sampled from that instrument...which would much more limiting, but I want to hear Peter's answer about it, his previous response about layering stuff wasn't clear enough to me.
Yes and yes, though for the layering, unless you can layer the oscs and feed them into a synth engine or something...there is not much difference then layering some synths in my DAW...so...I don't see that strong of an advantage there. But my Roland JP-80 has some monster sounding patches, almost all of them layered..so.. Look at the GUI that I posted on the last page. Each layer has its own button. So, you will choose a layer and whichever patch is loaded in that layer will define the gui that you see. So, if you load a Moog bass into layer 1 and an A6 bass into layer two then when you select each of those layers you will see the Moog GUI and the A6 GUI respectively.wagtunes wrote:But there are FOUR LAYERS.ghettosynth wrote:LOL! Each layer has one GUI for the patch that's loaded.
