as native user try VAZ modular,
if you got more money try Creaware ModularII and III
If you even got more money add:flexor v1.5 and soon the Flexor II pack
If you got loads of money, go back to analog and have the real sound, but you loose all the saving capabilites...
and I agree: impOSCar is one of the best sounding VSTis

Basement Arts Frantic......anything by FabFilter.....The VAZ filters are fantastic as well....The highpass filters on Cakewalk's Rapture are absolutely fantastic...they're built the same way the Virus' highpass filters are. BigTick's Rhino vsti has quite a few analog modeled filters that do sound superb. Umm......that's all for now.
I'll think of more later.
Peace

Hey hifiboom, I own Vaz Mod and Flexor since quite some time ...
Yeah I will lose saving abilities but frankly I don't care at all after the range of character sounds I've heard !

Wow I just downloaded Synth1. It has "liquidy" sounding filters. I'm no expert on filters, so would you guys consider Synth1's filters to be high-quality?
Also, could someone please give some examples of VSTs which have POOR quality filters (especially "zippery" sounding ones) so I could compare them?
Thanx in advance!

A huge preset saving needs a paper and a pen and half an hour... hahahaNuisances Sonores wrote:Hey hifiboom, I own Vaz Mod and Flexor since quite some time ...![]()

Paper and pen ? yuck ! this is so anal ...
I'll take DIGITAL pics !
I never been overwhelmed by Flexor's filters, we'll see what Flexor II will have new or upgraded, I will resume serious patching when I'll have more power ...
Vaz has real character filters ( and oscillators ) with few CPU needed, it's the only VSTi I still use.

Inspired by this thread I made some new presets for FabFilter Twin. These are based only on the filters selfoscillation. No oscillators were used, only a little noise in some places, to define the sound.
Here is a little demo tune that I made in about 30 seconds (so please excuse my sloppy playing!) using two of the presets that I made. This is a 3 note polyphonic tune as one of the patches uses 2 voices due to some detuning (the solo part).
Pretty fat imho. What do you think?
Cheers!
