moonchunk wrote: Wed Jun 01, 2022 5:43 am I happened to get an email from IK Multimedia today (the first one I got), and I assumed the group buy was just beginning. When I got home I re-read the email and noticed the sale was ending. I just scooped up the 33 synths with less than an hour to go. I appreciate you letting people know about this - someone will be grateful!
Keep a back up of the installation files.. Otherwise after a 180 days you will need to pay you download them again if you need them
Yeah, that's an absolute scam from IK Multimedia there, smh
But that only adds up to their unfriendliness towards customers. It's only about sales and cash. "Musicians first" is only a sales slogan.

I get that a music company doesn't need to act as the salvation army, but some have good customer policies and some just don't

Like how IKM handles update for example or their tone when they communicate with customers. Absolutely not up to how other companies do it.

We can but they're only letting us sell boxes now. No downloads. :-/

I suggest splitting up the bargains thread into one for Plugins and one for soundpacks/samples.

.. and the discussions thread to one for Plugin Alliance and one for everything else. I've been thinking this for months.

Not that this place is a democracy, but I prefer the current single thread approach for everything - I have no problem accepting that not every post is going to be of interest to me at the time it's posted.

Yeah it’s annoying when it gets bumped for some bullshit tarnce soundset from Bob’s Lo-Fi Geocities HTML Site of Non-transferable material.

This gets my vote.

Let's split up the bargains thread by store! By manufacturer! By instrument/plugin type! Let us have individual bargain threads for each user, so we only get posts that cater to our individual wishes!

...or we could just scroll past the posts that don't interest us.

Custom feeds are not a bad idea though. I've blocked some of the users in the bargain thread but I still get notified when they post. I'd rather make them invisible, but it's a small thing. In the end maybe 1 out of 50 deals will be interesting to most people. Everything is on sale all the time.

FWIW I think it’s fine, wish there was a way to make them cut down on smilies and over-exaggeration.

OMG what a fantastic amazing deal :o  :tu: :hyper:

…50 crappy presets for some synth or other.

Now that Plugin Alliance changed their (addictive) voucher system, it seems that most of the buzz about PA vanished, not only here, but on other forums I participate. Honestly, it's kinda of a good thing, everything seems less PA-centric now.

Now that you say it ... you are right. Some of their plugins are really good. However, for several reasons, only two of them are still on my harddrive (Metric AB, Hawkeye). Seems like the whole buzz is not for me, anyway.

On the subject of PA.....Today they are selling the AMEK EQ 200 for $24.99 with coupon code SUMMER22-EQ200

https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/prod ... q_200.html

In my opinion it's a great EQ and for that price a solid no-brainer deal. As always try the demo before purchase.

They've also had the AMEK 9099 channel strip on sale as well so keep an eye out.

Anything you want can be had for $30.99, as long as you are happy to buy them at a rate of 1 pcm

That does seem to be the new pricing scheme after the merger. Not quite anything but many things have been priced at $30.99 so far.

That would be good news but I have just about everything I want from them. I tried the new Lisa and Soma EQ's and wasn't impressed....
