Cool finds! I love posts like this.

It makes sense to need it for the stand alone version. I just wouldn't want to have to bust it out everytime I wanted to work on a mix after I've already finished tracking guitars. Stomp IO has the potential to be the Ultimate Dongle From Hell. Glad to see it won't be.

No more dongles at IK.

Even CSR will be dongless by next month. That's that. Freedom.

I can't say which just yet but when I do I think you will be as pysched as I am (some of you will be). Anyway, I will drop a hint of what's in there, here and there. The WAH I was talking about is a model of the classic VOX wah!!!!!! Yeah baby. That's THE ONE!
Good job on the Vox Wah. I had one of the 847 reissues and miss it dearly. No Crybaby I've ever tried matches that particular wah, and I keep meaning to just spend the cash and get another one but there's other gear I'd rather have more.

Quick question Squids: will there be any kind of update or paid upgrade for current AT2 users to get the additional wahs/stompboxes? As cool as the floorboard looks, it would kind of suck to be locked into buying it (when I don't play live anymore and already have an audio interface) just to get the extra effects. I wouldn't even mind if IK would do what Line 6 did and release additional amps/FX as paid add-ons. I'd definately be willing to drop a little extra cash for additional amps and effects.

ME 2 !
No way I will ditch the big bux tube DI I invested in.

Fx loop or at least the input being comutable bettwen Line\DI. I won't give up that easely on my DI.

A cool addition too for people who doesn't need more than an audio interface... In case Stomp I\O delivers the goods. I guess it can be used as a controller alone and the sound being input for with some treasured AI. So i'm not going to be adamant about this but it would be nice.

Squids: so what is your FX pedal "wish list" anyways? Just as a matter of interest, with no expectation that IK will necessarily implement all, or even any of them.

Personally, I think it needs to include at the very least:

MXR M-117 Flanger
MXR M-125 SmartGate and/or Rocktron HUSH
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff π
Musitronics Mu-Tron III (or Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron)
...and of course the VOX wah

Oh, and there needs to be some sort of rhythmic pattern gate, like Gat'R, only it should actually follow tempo changes! (Grrrrr!!!)

How does this compare to Guitar Rig 2?

Can I add the Proco Rat to that list? Thanks! I'd love to have a software version of that.

Well, considering this will be fully revealed tomorrow in the press conference (which I am now just standing by because this one is so exciting that the Italian speaking CEO himself is going to host it...in English of course but I may chime in just to help convey the Americanisms "No, what he meant to say is HOLY SHIT now you have a modeled UNIVIBE!!!!!!!!")

Oh yeah, by the way, IK has modeled the freakin' UNIVIBE folks. I have been wanting a Univibe forever. I have the Rotovibe (which I also like but it's not the Univibe). These vintage Univibes with the pedal are HARD TO FIND and when you do they are like $1,200 and up on ebay. Between the Vox Wah and the Univibe we're talking about some of the most fluid wah and chorus/vibrato you can get! So, now you have a little bit of an idea why I am so excited! However, imagine that's just scratching the surface! Hmmmmm. :o

Anyway, when you get Stomp IO you get a great software package with it and even if the whole thing isn't as cheap as other interfaces that offer less, that doesn't mean it won't be phenominal value like every other IK product. It's all relative that's all.

Good news for you though is that there will be a way for you to get access to these effects just on the software side and as usual if you are an AT2 owner you will qualify for cross-grade discounts too.

One thing I might add since I may have a lot of people's attention (spilling some risky beans here which I didn't get clearance for... but I figure with one more day left and even MORE to announce that it couldn't hurt and you guys deserve a little bit of fun) I might as well tell you some other good news if you own ANYTHING from IK. It looks like the "ALL GRADES" thing is going to be semi permanent. I say "semi" because who knows if it will last forever this way but it looks like for a WHILE the whole promo on "any IK product you own, even the bundled versions with ProTools, Mackie, Emu etc. qualify you to get the crossgrade discount to any other IK product" will be continued.

This, I have to say, is one of the most rewarding deals for customer loyalty that I have seen from any company in this industry. I hope you guys have noticed some major changes at IK over the last couple of years in terms of prioritizing customer satisfaction. I don't want to take credit for it but I will say that my communication with YOU guys and relaying "what the customer wants" back to the head of IK HAS definitely helped shape these good things like ALL GRADES, losing the dongle, NOT charging for those UB updates or stand alone (remember back when IK used to charge for the OSX updates as did most other companies? I was against that back then so I was glad we won on the free UB update). There's a tremendous effort being made on creating good will and customer loyalty going on. Those that know me know that this is a philosophy I subscribe to personally. You know, I value the importance of customer satisfaction highly and one of the reasons I am even here as much as I am is because I like to be aware of the user's perspective and I like to help connect the dots too (like in this thread where AT2 isn't even a product Sonic Reality did the samples for with IK... woops, scratch that we have some great drum grooves to jam over so please buy those and support your local Squid! ;) haha). http://www.esoundz.com/sounds2.php?p=st ... =0&stiid=0

Okay, that's it for now. Well... ok I will leave you with one more hint and a game to play. There's a stomp box out there that if you play your guitar through it you CAN get you some SATISFACTION! :D Hmmm. The first person who guesses which pedal I am talking about will get the associated software that has models of the vox, the univibe, the _______ pedal and more (when it is released) for FREE courtesy of www.esoundz.com (a place where you can get "epointz" when you buy there which is credit to buy more, another customer loyalty gesture). Fun? I might as well add a little spice to this thread after so long. Let me see what else I can do to make this fun for you guys. (well, check out the IK/SR esoundz contest we have going in our Sonic Reality forum on KVR by the way, that too might be fun for you if you have some musical talent... the one thing no software company can sell you!).

Okay, off to NAMM prep day 2.

Post

The Gibson Maestro Fuzz-Tone FZ-1.
Nice.

There is something I discovered in AT2 that needs to be addressed: there needs to be either true TUNER module bypass, or some sort of stereo mode for it, so I can play my stereo Gibson Lucille in AT2 without having Left and Right summed to mono! Everything after the TUNER can be stereo, but the TUNER destroys any stereo image fed into it, and there is no way around it. Bigtime lame.
