Thx.
I can tell you that I've kept my presets intact... I'm sure there are some differences, but maybe the best thing you could do is save all your settings as presets and check to see how your tracks sound through this release (if saved under a new directory).

Although its true that these sound better than most released software, it is important to remember that these are still beta and a lot can change as a result of fixing any possible bug.

I can't imagine any difference in sound (apart from bugfixes in S). The only changes I can think of are related to channels.

It'd be great if you gave it a try. I'd love to know if there any differences :oops:

So is there a definitive list of the UHBIKs and what each name stands for? I can never remember what "A" or "T" means...

A = Ambience
D = Delay
F = Flanger
P = Phaser
Q = EQ
S = Freq Shifter
T = Tremelo+Pan
Runciter = Filter

I was having the same trouble.... so I just renamed the dll's to:

Ambience.dll
Delay.dll
Flanger.dll
Phazer.dll
Qualizer.dll
Shifter.dll
Tremolo.dll

I also used Photoscape to lighten a few of the gui's.

Problem solved :D

Be careful though... you might end up with all flangers...

Urs, why does Uhbik-S only have 6 modulation rates?

Post

Urs,
Why, if you renamed the dlls. might they all end up as flangers when you tried loading the different FX?

Strictly spoken, it doesn't have modulation rates at all. It has 6 useful ranges in which the shift parameter operates. Uhbik-S thus differs from flanger, tremolo and phaser because it doesn't have a LFO.

The modulation you perceive comes from the linear detune. If you mix dry signal and frequency shifted signal 50:50 and apply a shift of 3 Hz then it only sounds like a modulation at 3Hz - when it's just detune.

Because they're all the same. The name of the .dll is queried for i.e. "-S" or "-s" and if that term is in there, the plugin operates as Uhbik-S.

All the installer does, it installs Uhbik-F.dll, makes 7 renamed copies and that's it. This way the download is small and my dramas during releases are kept in healthy boundaries. I need to compile only once (saves an hour ot two) and I know that all bugfixes whatsoever are automatically available in all plugs.

However, Uhbik-Shifter.dll etc. shall work.

Also Urs, sorry, but with the latest Uhbij=k update, do i have to first delete my dlls and then recopy them into the VST folder again, or is it an update that does this automatically?
Thanks.

It's automatic unless you rename them...

Thanks Urs!

Ah, I guess that explains why Uhbik-X will have the same latency as any individual Uhbik, even if you've got more than one effect loaded in X? Clever, clever stuff.
