-complaints about latency
-instrument rack issues (which they obviously didn't change here, but I hate it)
-a few people having stability issues
-GUI issues and touchy "smart tool" problems
-some possible compatibility issues with new things like breverb/TH2 in the prochannel and stability
-I don't want to shell for the concrete limiter (but feel I'd want it)

All I can think of now. Enjoying the stop/look/listen approach, we'll see.
I have upgrade and own concrete limiter and all pro channel modules but am liking the new console emulation best. Also better workflow with audio clips, reminds me of reaper clips style. Still using plugins in sonar X2 so dont really care about other hosts as now remaining exclusive to X2 version, its been the best version I have used yet so no complaints here, had a few crashes but whats new!!!, think Im hooked actually so im off to make some tunes and thats got to be saying something. I bought all pro channel modules and they make life a hell of a lot easier especially with the breverb pro channel module, I upgraded to X2 producer after shelling out full price for expanded, then all modules and missed all sales after, talk about skanked!!,anyway got the la2a intro offer and its very similar to waves new ones and the EQ is vastly improved so I guess thats me. Great stuff, cakewalks best yet even though unfortunately it seems to be going eclusive with plugins in the pro channel and producer options

If you have a song. And you want to select an 1/4 bar section, and bounce it, and then insert that as an extra 1/4 bar insert........doable?
Yes, doable. Here is how:

1. Make your selection
2. Tracks > Bounce to Track(s)
3. Source category = Tracks
4. Select any options at the bottom of this screen
5. Click OK

The clip will appear in the new track then you can move it around as you like.

Just wanted to make sure. I don't have good memory.......thanks!

That's the scariest part. But the new patch apparently fixes some of that.

This time I'll definitely wait till the stupidly cheap sales start happening. Still miffed at upgrading to expanded only to have the price drop to $10.00 a few weeks later :| It's business, I know, and I had my "expanded" functionality 2 weeks before "the other guy"... still sucks.

PS: In fact, same bloody thing happened with the P.C. modules. That's it, not buying ANY from CW at full price or on release anymore :?

EDIT: Turns out the "upgrade" from X1 Prod Ex. to X2 is $99... not too bad but i might wait for a sale later. Still haven't gotten properly to grips with X1 as is :P
I feel your pain. I got Sonar X1 mega deal from DV247 in the UK. It was Sonar7 HS with an upgrade CD for Sonar X1 Studio and a download link to X1 Producer. This deal entitled me to get a free upgrade to Production Suite. I got this on the 27th of July but didn't recieve my serials for expanded,PCK4 expander/gate and Z3TA 2.1 until hours before they release info on the Sonar X1 to X2 free upgrade from August 1st through to Oct. I hadn't even been able to use the version I payed for, for a few hours before they released that other offer. The good thing is, they agreed to sort me out with X2 because of this and I'm happy about that but I Still haven't received my D/L links for X2 yet :\

Nice that they sorted you with X2, good one mate! Sure you'll get your serials soon ;) I'm trying desperately to stick to my guns and not give in to the "intro" offer

It's really hard to resist, but once you give in, you'll feel better :hihi:
So the only thing I missed out on was being a day early (still got the strings)

I really don't care that much about it........but there they are.

It's going to be next week before it downloads! :hihi:

I've got the clean install up on the x64 machine, so ready fredie.
The strings exceeded my expectations.

My expectations were pretty damn low, but they might get a look in some projects. I still haven't tested most of the new stuff, but I really like X2. this puts Sonar over the hump in my opinion, I'm sure there will be stuff that annoys me, but really that's every host TBH. now if they let us record into the matrix cells, and fix up V-Vocal a bit, I'll be pretty happy.

Now that you have mentioned V-Vocal, I will not miss this opportunity to vent out. V-Vocal is really a nice plugin but as usual it's ignored by Cakewalk. With some love and update from CW it can compete with others in the same league but no CW chose to ignore it like some other plugins. At least they should improve the UI a bit and display the transparent blobs like everybody else than just lines so that no body has to zoom in and out a lot. I really don't like this attitude of introducing something and then ignore and drop it later. Perfect Space is gone from X2 right?

Anybody getting good use of R-Mix? How about TH-2? Better than Guitar Rig. I am over the initial temptation, I can wait now. Hibidy gave in, Shame on you  but I wish you good luck. May this version erase all the bad memory/problem that you had with Sonar. So, who else is in wait and watch mode? I know GeorgeZ is.. who else :-D

As Synths go your gonna love Rapture, It's one of Rene's (Cebellos) best synths next to Z3ta Version 1. I really hope Rene puts something out since he no longer works for Cakewalk.

I think Sonar X2 is the best version of Sonar by quite a margin. They have finally refined the X series direction and X2 is much much snappier and fun to use.

I really like the strings too. I don't have any real expensive libraries but I have Session Strings Pro, Miroslav Phil, and Garritan Personal Orch, and it's nice to have the choice because each has a different overall sound and usefullness in the sections and articulations, etc. I'm not sure whether Symphonic Strings is quite up to the standards of these three but it's in the ball park and does have a different sound, and also some weird interesting patches.
