The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Where did you find this Hink?
I am interested in putting keys on guitar strings.
Here is my attempt->
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=383797

Would like some more details about the pic u upped, looks really neat, the tooling.
I wonder what I want in here
-my site is gone and music a mess

A friend on FB posted it

Your project in the diy forum is beyond amazing dude...I am so humbled by your engineering skills :)

edit: in the few comments on the pic the question is asked "who made it" and the answer is Debela bebica but I'm not finding any info on them :?

It's nice how simple the device is, IMO Hink- your solution, when posed the same problem, would also work- if not be roughly identical.
The rams are humbling IMO- the Australian company Festo make them sweetly.
It is not that difficult an engineering trick(which is good), I just needed to hinge the motion to change the direction by 90 degrees.

Would you mind chasing up some info from ur FB friend Hink?
I'm curious indeed about modding guitar mechanisms. Reminds me I've got to learn what they r up to with lap steel. Is this a piano hammer on guitar?

My best 2 engineering tricks are heart shaped cams and scotch keys- I came up with these without prior knowledge of them.

I found a 1991 unfinished patent for a hammer mechanism bolted onto guitar that worked on the player's impetus.

Time to do some neck walking 8D

edit- Thanks mate for finding the luthier, I'll note the name

Sandberg California jm4 hardcore aged black with crome pickguard. Neck is flat like Ibanez basses and very low string action. What a beast! Bought it used for a good price. :D I really needed a bass. Tired of programming bass. :x
If you got small fingers like me, go for Sandberg.

Debela bebica means "fat (little) baby" in Serbian and some related languages. I would think that it might also mean someting like "fat chick" in one of the countless regional dialects and slangs.
