Why, if you renamed the dlls. might they all end up as flangers when you tried loading the different FX?

Because they're all the same. The name of the .dll is queried for i.e. "-S" or "-s" and if that term is in there, the plugin operates as Uhbik-S.

All the installer does, it installs Uhbik-F.dll, makes 7 renamed copies and that's it. This way the download is small and my dramas during releases are kept in healthy boundaries. I need to compile only once (saves an hour ot two) and I know that all bugfixes whatsoever are automatically available in all plugs.

However, Uhbik-Shifter.dll etc. shall work.

teehee - could-not-re-sist renaming a copy of Uhbik-D to Uhbik-X (well someone had to try) but it came out Uhbik-F. Nice one

i downloaded the free beta, i would LOVE these plugins, if there wasn't a disturbing noise happening randomly, when a uhbik plugin is opened in the channel chain..
is that because it's a beta? any others have the same problem? or is it me and my mac :S
was going to buy, until that started happening.

I guess they run in demo-mode. IIRC they're not released just yet.

Does anybody know with reasonable certainty whether, if I use this new RC1 in place of the first pre-release, there's any difference in sound? I've got a project in process that's got a number of Uhbiks..... I should probably mention that I'm using Live.

I can't imagine any difference in sound (apart from bugfixes in S). The only changes I can think of are related to channels.

It'd be great if you gave it a try. I'd love to know if there any differences

-D and -F, at least, sound the same to my ears -- but those are the only 2 I'm using in the current project, so I can't say for sure about the others.

one more Q: is U-he gonna send me the presets too, after purchasing it? or should i have to wait a bit more.. if yes, how much? it looks easy on the controls, but there are some things that actually i don't understand (english is not my native language).

the presets will come shortly. Most likely by the time it is finally released.
The way I look at it is buy it now, and if you need presets to work only install it after it has officially been released. That is pretend you didnt' buy it.. this way you get the best price and get the full version when it is released.

I just bought these plugins and I'm trying to register them in Orion 7.603. When trying to type the space in my user name it doesn't register, it just activates the play hotkey in Orion. How do I enter a space, or is there a fix for this already? I haven't read every page of this thread so sorry if this has been covered already.

Can't you make use of "cut & paste"? I hate entering serial numbers by hand

etherdesign, this is more a problem of Orion than Uhbik. I always have this kind of problem when I register plugins with Orion. Like ZenPunkHippy said, cut & paste is the way to go.

Yes, I hadn't thought of that. I wasn't trying to enter my serial number which I always copy-paste and didn't contain spaces, but my user name which did. As I edited above I managed to register the plugins in Wavelab instead, but thank you for your input, that probably would have worked, c+p my user name into the dialog box.

Well now, off to have some fun with Uhbik!

Edit: I must say, that I'm impressed I received two *helpful* user replies within minutes of my question. Thank you both, this is my first purchase from Urs but with this kind of user enthusiasm it won't be my last! Thanks again for the generous introductory offer Urs.

Now that you mention it... 2008 was the first year in a long time that I didn't sick at all. I hope it stays that way, or maybe it means 2009 will be the year I get sick twice as much as any year before??
