that's why software eqs suck balls (compared to analog eqs). been saying it for ages...
needs to be done at some point.

I'm sorry, I didn't have any intention to start it. Just saw couple'o reapers and that's it. But DAW war is like Spanish Inquisition -- nobody expect it.
Btw, 'spanish inquisition' is a good name for distortion and decimation plugin, if u-he have an intention to make one.

We've been working on a so-called "Multi Scene Filter" for Zebra3 which is a superset of equalisers, resonators, filterbanks and modal synthesis bodies. Our testcase renders 2000+ filters on a single core, and they're all 0df. They do however cover the linear case only. Which - for that application - is well enough, as well as for transparent equalisers.olikana wrote:an analog eq requires 0dff. there no ifs and buts. it's all bout filters after all.

don't know how feasible cpu wise is a bunch of filters running in 0dff and on different channles ...but needs to be done at some point.
My hope is that we can use this technology and put it into Filterscape and Uhbik at some point.

A final wrap up (Saturday & Sunday) in pictures:
Claes showing me the modular synth in Bitwig

Coffee with Jim Heintz and Andreas Schneider

Single Malt with Stephan M. Bernsee at Zynaptiq

Time to take things apart...

... and stuff it into the van

Last chance to check mails

It was a great week

I really hope U-He synths will get per-note automation support in BitWig Studio by the way!
It would still be cool to have VST3 VST expression (or however it is called) support, but that seems to be hard to impement.
Claes mentioned in another video that the BitWig Studio per-note automation is based on simple sysex messages and should be easier to implement iirc
Cheers

Yeah, he showed me the per note automation and it's very well implemented it seems.
ATM they have the VST 2.x support mostly working and think about VST3 exactly for this kind of stuff. It seems they had per not automation before VST3 was even available...
I personally was very impressed by Bitwig actually.
Looks like Ableton Live 15...
Cheers,
Tom

Good call, something we can all agree on. Lets move on.chilly7 wrote:p.s.
But i agree, it is a Uhe MusikMesse thread so no offtopic anymore. If sombody want to continue this dessusion they can creat a thread in a propiat forum location.
Still really looking forward to Satin and the Diva update.
