i still dont get it whats it wrong with the gui? it is dark enough judging from the screens, i think everything is sorted and intuitive.
probably better as most of the GUIs you see on the market and it looks fancy enough for the EDM users. Nothing is more worse as a too bright GUI! When the pb is released, i need to check, how it look on ember mode in f.lux, a test with the screenshot shows i can still read everything with 1200K ember setting. prooves for me the balance on everything is good enough.

But they already do have Basti, who is their UI/UX designer. Also Urs has a diploma in industrial design, which is also UI/UX related, isn't it? :)

Hehe, yes.

I think though that - if we manage to do all the things we wanted to - people will change their mind. The central display might become the most important part of the synth.

But even now, while I agree that at first sight the view gets drawn into the center, in my experience it's not a problem after a few minutes of working with it. Human minds are a marvel.

UI looks good to me.

Please make it a decent resolution as well, Spire for example is a total PITA on a retina macbook.

The HIVE UI looks very good i think. Clean, kind of futuristic, all parameters easy accessable. Just great.... my opinion :D

scalable in steps of 10% from 70% to 200% - based on the posted screenshot as 100%

Very nice.

I'm quite sold at this point 8)

Perhaps if the center display had a few different options for what to display, it would provide more functionality that way. So you have an effects page, an o-scope page, etc. (Then again, I don't have a copy so I have no idea if it already does what I'm asking it to do here)

Post

Center part already swaps between arp-seq and effects, and there will be a third tab.

but you can see on the screenshots that there are individual pages for the arpegiator/sequencer and the effects? a scope seems to be missing but I personally don't regard it as a useful tool (except maybe for didactic reasons in Bazille).

why would somebody need a score? i rely on my ears and it would be a waste of space and resources for me. it looks nice, but that is all.

In Bazille it probably helps to understand the 'fractalize' function and others if one doesn't RTFM. Another use would be to have a glance if a waveform has visible DC offset etc.
But I'm certain that it's just there for eye-candy in most plugins (Fabfilter  ) which actually distracts the mind from critically listening to the source material.

Will we be able to pre-order Hive before 12/31, when our survey coupons expire? Already know I want this (as an owner of Diva, Bazille and Z2 ... and user of Tyrell and TripCheese)... Your synths are the best on the market, bar none. Thanks!

Edit: My bad - already asked and answered a few pages earlier...
