no need to apologise, i was just messing. not offended.
just want you to remember, some of us do pop in from time to time.

and where i post long tracks, you post lost :hihi: its quite hard to keep up :P

as for you commenting on mine, don't sweat it. you've done your due diligence there :hihi: i get its not everybodys thing, and especially as you say the longer pieces, i couldn't expect someone to sit through 40 minutes of something that isn't working for them :)

don't stat me! :o
tbh, we as artists are better not doing the whole stat thing, if i cared how many listened or commented, i might change what i do to attract more people, eventually watering down what is me.
id like to think you have that same integrity, that you will do what you love no matter what the world and its dog thinks. that's where happiness lies :)

Just for the heck of it, I did go back through the 34 pages of this thread and compiled these stats.

Total Tracks Posted - 169
Total Tracks Commented On - 55
Total Number Of Comments - 87

So as you can see, I average a comment on about every 3rd song posted and less than 2 comments on each song commented on. I can easily go 6 or 7 tracks without any comments at all before I finally get one.

Funny thing is, the very first song I posted got 13 comments. But after that, almost nothing. No other track commented on has more than 4 comments and most have only 1.

It is what it is. Again, I'm not upset and don't even care anymore. This thread is just a way for me to kill some time. Nothing more. If somebody comments on something, great, I appreciate it a lot. But if not, eh, whatever. Can't let it get to me.

Anyway, I've got some time to kill so I'm gonna go listen to some Vurt weirdness.

The pain is a part of the experience though, no? I've found that I enjoy listening to my own really long works, which, FWIW, put yours to shame in terms of length and monotony, but then, I think that it's because every few seconds I think "I made this, how cool is that?" It's amazing how effective narcissism is as a numbing agent, they should bottle that shit and sell it at 7/11.

Another one from "Back Together Again III" with lyrics by Leonard Herman.

Writing On The Wall

It’s only writing on the wall
Somewhere down the lane
I couldn’t understand it
It’s really hard to explain
That writing on the wall
By someone eight feet tall
It sure was strange to me
That writing on the wall

And I think about who wrote it
And why they wrote it there
Why did they write it at all
That writing on the Wall

I’ve seen that writing on the wall
I’ve seen it everywhere
Blocking out the scenery
But no one seems to care
Cause it’s writing on the wall
The message read so small
I nearly didn’t understand it
That writing on the wall

Repeat Bridge

I read the writing on the wall
Did not believe my eyes
In this hateful world of ours
The wall it bore a surprise
And I read that writing on the wall
Wishing love for one and all
But very few had read the wall
That writing on the wall

Another one from "Bananas Crackers And Nuts"

9 On A Cloud

Locked in my mind
Secrets you'll never find
Lost and confused
Sometimes I feel so used

Have to escape
Before it's way too late
Haven to go
One place I'm sure you know

9 on a cloud
Thinking out loud
Floating on air
Without a care
9 on a cloud
9 on a cloud
9 on a cloud
9 on a cloud

Repeat Chorus

Another one from my CD "M"

Healing Hands

When I'm love sick
When my heart is broken
I can turn to you
Though it's all unspoken
You can heal me
With your healing hands

When you're love sick
When your heart is broken
You can turn to me
My love's not some token
I can heal you
With my healing hands

Healing hands
The universal panacea
Healing hands
Works for North and South Korea
And you and me too

When the day's black
And there's no light in sight
And the sun's gone
And there ain't a thing right
I can heal you
With my healing hands

When the night's cold
When the stars have burnt out
And you're freezing
Because love is in doubt
I can heal you
With my healing hands

Repeat Middle 8 Twice

When it seems like
All your hope is long gone
And you don't have
Any will to go on
I can heal you
With my healing hands

Title track from my CD "Divas"

Divas

Divas
Divas

Where's my close up
You can't have mine
You're both crazy
I'll do just fine
We can't go on
Like crazy dames
We gotta stop this game

Think you're so cool
Cooler than you
In your dreams girl
In your mind too
I will beat you
Black and blue
We've got nothing else to do

So it comes down to this
Seal it off with a kiss (no way girl)
This is war to the end
There's no way that we can stay as friends
Because you know we're

Divas rocking the world you know we're
Divas who's the top girl you know we're
Divas right to the end
So go take yourself to some place else
I will not bend

Divas lay in the grass you know we're
Divas kicking some ass you know we're
Divas for all to see
And I will not be defeated
In my victory

Divas
Divas

So it's on now
Give it your best
I will stand tall
Above the rest
Grand delusions
We are the queens
We just can't stop these dreams

Repeat Chorus 2x

Another from my CD "No Signal"

Frozen Stiff

Your cold as Ice
I do not like
We do not click
Because you're a dick

You leave me frozen stiff
When your tool goes limp
You leave me frozen stiff
Cause you're a prick

Time really drags
I feel like a hag
We are so lame
Because you're to blame

Repeat Chorus

Post

Well, 10 years ago, on October 7, 2008, I completed my first CD in 5 years. I had stopped writing going on 5 years and was pretty much sure that I had written my last song. I was burnt out and sick of the whole scene. And then sometime in 2008 I dumped my analog studio, got all digital equipment (bought a Boss BR 900CD digital recorder) and have been writing and recording ever since, switching to ITB in 2013.

To celebrate my 10th anniversary of the rebirth of my writing, I started a new CD titled "Ten Years Later" that I plan on finishing exactly on October 7, 2018.

This is the first and title track. I'm planning on going back to simple songs (no big productions) for this CD just like 10 years ago, but we'll see how long that lasts. Only thing that matters is I finish on October 7, 2018.

Ten Years Later

All the time that's gone by
Vanished in a wink of an eye
When did my life go wrong
Why oh why does it seem to long

We don't see the time go
Funny all the things you don't know
Too late to undo things
Waits until the fat lady sings

So we ignore the haters
Stand tall ten years later

Pretty soon it's all gone
Yet the T V still it stays on
No one left to watch time
Think it's yours and yet it is mine

Laugh all that you want to
Cause that's just what people will do
Make your peace with your God
Even if they think it is odd

My 2nd track from my upcoming CD "Ten Years Later" I decided to sing myself. It's a reference to my original track from 10 years ago called "My Blues." A few synth vocal lines in the background but for those who hate Vocaloid as a main voice, this track shouldn't offend you. In fact, I didn't sing it too badly considering it's all of a 5 note range, which is about all I can handle these days. It's passable but that's about it.

Nobody Knows My Blues

Nobody knows my blues
The life I've lived it's got me down
It's not the one I choose
The one I own in this old town
Nobody knows my blues

Nobody knows my woes
The pain inside it's all too much
From my head to my toes
It hurts so bad you cannot touch
Nobody knows my woes

Looking up at the sky
Always wondering why
All I can do is dry
While I wait to die

Nobody knows my cares
I plead my case but no one hears
No one even dares
To understand my daily fears
Nobody knows my cares

Repeat Bridge

Repeat Verse 1

The synth in Writing On The Wall is pretty darned catchy Wags. I really enjoyed that one.

Well, I don't smoke and I can't drink anymore but I'm glad it wasn't objectionable. lol.

I'll have to be reincarnated a hundred times over to sound like Tom Waits. The guy is a legend. The video with him and Tom Petty meeting at a diner is priceless.

For me that's 100x better than anything using Vocaloid. The vocal is fine. There's a couple of parts where you sound a bit hesitant in the changing between the notes, but nothing major.

You do know that's only my 49th birthday? :hihi:
