Voxengo route is insanely cheap and I think they guy is losing a lot of money not making it a sub. you only have to pay once and you get everything forever including updates.El°HYM wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:23 pmWas more thinking in general and what other companies have to offer. With that said, you can get pretty far with Voxengo only. The whole hardware emulations etc. aside, but we also having enough companies doing exactly that.ralfrobert wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:17 pmI am quite happy I went the Voxengo route to cover my bases two years ago. Voxengo gives me many tools, but not everything.El°HYM wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 9:06 pm Maybe Voxengo Premium Membership will become your new best friend.https://www.voxengo.com/product/premiumPremium Membership allows you to obtain software product licenses for any (or all) Voxengo plugins of your choice, without any additional fee. Premium Membership has no expiration period and has no hidden, monthly or yearly recurring payments. Premium Membership costs a flat one-time fee and lasts indefinitely, it is a "bundle" software product license fee.
I am wondering which Waves plugins are irreplaceable for the people who have them. Any opinions?
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I hate subs... And I disliked the old Waves license policy too. Not buying any more from theyKurdish Mayfield wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 5:53 pm Welp, it looks like Waves has gone over to an all subscription plan for their products. I'm sad to see this...

I can imagine treating it like hiring a mix engineer. Write an album, subscribe for a month to let their AI mix it for you, and then unsubscribe when the album is done.

I hope this flops and Waves regrets their poor consumer decision in time. But I doubt it will happen.
Even the free StudioRack is now subscription only. I'm not willing to use it anymore considering it is essentially no longer developed or supported (outside of a stupid subscription). It was one of a kind really. Bluecat is the closest competitor but it's not the same. Too bad.
I stopped using IKM plugins because of the gimmickyness and hassle with the old registration system. Now Waves is out.
Time to be more selective with what companies I allow to enter into my life. Because as silly as that sounds that is what you're doing when you weave their products into your workflow.

I know it sucks, but I'd like to see how they address their customer base before declaring them dead and boycotting all their signature endorsers.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

Question I have is does this (in the email to customers from Waves)...
...mean you can get a month of the ultimate subscription and update all your standalone plugins or if you do that do they all get updated to "subscription only" plugins? Or do the standalone ones never get updated when your current WUP period ends? What about plugin updates?
Waves Creative Access keeps all your plugins updated, always. You will get all updates for the plugins in your subscription, at no extra cost: no need for the Waves Update Plan. However, If you still have a valid Waves Update Plan, you will continue to enjoy all its benefits until it expires.

Going subscription is really terrible for countries like Brazil and others in Latin America where our currency is very devalued.
But I don't think anyone cares.
Probably piracy will fill this blank...
For richer countries subscription are not so bad.
But to be honest, Waves have a lot of plugins, but most of them are ok but not really necessary.

exactly. I'm also from Brazil and a $24 subscription is absolutely ridiculous. The point is that regardless of that, we have disrespect for customers who already have their plugins for years. Not being able to update them without signing up? Or a new customer to acquire some plugins they need, without also having to pay for it monthly? Waves is heading towards ostracismfsoares wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 10:21 pm Going subscription is really terrible for countries like Brazil and others in Latin America where our currency is very devalued.

I'm from Argentina. We are worse than Brazil and increasingly low in the economy. This of the plugins sub doesn't help.KIMCHRISTOPHER wrote: Sun Mar 26, 2023 10:26 pmexactly.
