1) Take a plugin that is on sale for $44 instead of $149
2) Apply the 10% off coupon that UAD sent out to "select customers"
3) Apply $10 off with UALURKER4LIFE
4) Apply $25 off with the "Thank You" coupon from your last purchase
5) Buy the plugin for $4.90
6) Wait a bit to receive a new "Thank You" coupon
7) Rinse and repeat

:borg:

Yeah, it's crazy.
I'm living in Germany, so currency is Euro € and taxes on top.
A plugin for $44 is for me 48€.
UALURKER4LIFE + "Thank You" coupon brings the price down to 13€.
But I sadly don't receive the 10% off coupon for "selected customers"...

Do the licensed UAD native plugins require an active internet connection? That is, do they try to connect to the internet every time you run an instance or load a project containing instances in them? Is there any way to authorize them once on a PC and then disconnect them from the internet for years at a time?

I tried the trial version and it required the internet connection to get the GUI to load every single time, but I wasn't sure if it was just like that for the trial.

They require either a physical iLok or activation in an iLok Cloud session. And the iLok Cloud session requires constant Internet connection. Unfortunately you can’t activate them machine based.

I am trying to decide between the UA or Softube Minis and Monark, as they are all nearly the same price on sale now. They all sound good but I guess it's personal preference. If I remember correctly, UA's version can't assign controls to any CC you want (easy MIDI learn), or I am I thinking of a different product? :?

No, because it only worked once for me. After that, I emailed UA support and they said it should be in my account / well it's there now - but it's $25 off if spending over $100.

That's all I got.

That's as I feared. Thank you for confirming!

Correct. UA’s CC’s are locked.

Softube’s MIDI Learn is excellent. I think you can even tweak them using a text editor.

Code is "HANGTEN". But if you don't see that in your account you can most likely not use it.

Thomann is great. They also have Synapse Obsession on sale currently for $50

They are the cheapest place for all Synapse stuff, Dune 3 is only $149 at the normal price
Nice, considering it. Is Obsession worth it if I already have Diva and Repro or are they overlapping?

I'd look up some of the sound demos of the original hardware (OBXa) since Synapse's reproduction is extremely good, but there aren't any good demos of the VSTi on youtube. If you like the sound of the original, it does have a certain character to it that is unique. You can also download the demo from Synapse and try it out. $50 for any of Synapse's main 3 VSTis is a killer deal. I prefer Synapse over uhe, personally

One potential real advantage to Obsession is its very light on CPU compared to Diva and Repro.

here's a good demo of the original:
