Same, I got TSM2 a while back but I only use Modo Bass and compressor plus the occasional "oh what would this plugin though" moment but I think I've used Syntronik once.vstdls wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 2:57 pmThat's exactly what it's doing here. Sometime I just look at a thing like this and ask myself whether I want to even spend the time going through the presents. The size is daunting. On top of the hassle of the installer, the limited download time, and how the whole thing feels rather cheap once you've ACTUALLY got all of your libraries registered... I wouldn't suggest anyone spend $$$ on Syntronik

Yeah the size of Syntronik is just too much for me to ever use it, and I don't even have the full thing. Not a fan of sample based VSTis for this reason. Would rather just use high quality synths that do not require so much space

Thought I spotted a good deal on the Bitwig upgrade plan but it's actually for their new "Bitwig Producer" version with even more limited features than Bitwig itself. Not sure if existing full version owners can use the producer upgrade plan or if a producer license has to be purchased first.
Though since I don't care about the grid and the only Bitwig devices I ever use are XY FX, FX Layer, and Tool so Producer would probably be better for me... but the lack of midi comping has been driving me so crazy I've started memorizing all the arbitrary nonsense necessary to use Cubase efficiently.

Yeah, I have both. Bitwig is more like a sketch pad and fun thing and Cubase is the serious one. I have used Cubase since V4 and I still forget everything and feel like its interface is crazy, but that is due to the feature set. Halion is similar, and V7 (just upgraded from V6) adds a ridiculous number of new features. I can't believe I waited so long. Funny, after looking at so many sales I spent most of my planned budget on upgrades and not anything new except Kult.Ou_Tis wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 4:44 pm Thought I spotted a good deal on the Bitwig upgrade plan but it's actually for their new "Bitwig Producer" version with even more limited features than Bitwig itself. As a Seaboard player (Rise 2 now) I'm really hating Cubase's crappy Note Expression editor, which I apparently have to use for polyphonic pitch bend. There seems to be no option to view it in terms of cents or semitone, and vertical snap to semitone doesn't appear to work in the Note Expression editor. And unlike in Bitwig there's no way to quickly see the pitch curve for multiple polyphonic notes without opening the Note Expression editor for each note. Maybe Logical editor will be automate some related things that would be tedious in Bitwig, but I think I should consider going back to Tracktion Waveform for midi comping or just switching over to Ableton now that it has MPE support (plus similar workflow to Bitwig and I've seen a lot of tutorials using Ableton). If Ableton ever has good crossgrade-from-other-DAW sales....Gribs wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 5:43 pmYeah, I have both. Bitwig is more like a sketch pad and fun thing and Cubase is the serious one. I have to disagree with what others have said here, I own Syntronik 2 and use it a lot. The sounds are great IMHO, especially the leads. But again my opinion so I would check out some preset vidoes if you are still considering it. And IK's installation and download policy sucks so there's that.Gribs wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 5:34 pm Audio Plugin Deals has IKM Syntronik 2 on sale for $39.99 (and sent a code for another $5 off). Also, what is this with IKM having a time limit for downloads? I just emailed several smaller Kontakt devs for downloads for products I ordered circa 8 years+ ago and all of them were very responsive and helpful (kudos to Impact Soundworks, Soundiron, Zero-G, Rhythmicrobot, and Wavealchemy for help recovering old stuff).

agreed, Syntronik sounds REALLY good. It's not like hard drive space is expensive anymore either.seangm wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 6:35 pmI have to disagree with what others have said here, I own Syntronik 2 and use it a lot. I'm here to join the Syntronik 2 fan club. I love many of the sounds that it offers. Some say that it's "just a rompler", which is true, but the patches that were designed specifically for version 2 offer way more sound design possibilities than any other rompler I know. And with that many presets the chances are good that you don't need to do any sound design of your own because you can find a patch that's close enough to what you had in mind - or one that changes your mind by sounding better than what you had in mind.ATS wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 1:20 amagreed, Syntronik sounds REALLY good. I own plenty of real soft-synths, Diva, Sylenth1, Spire, Pigments and lots more. I still come back to Syntronik 2 quite often because it offers so many sounds that are just right for Synthwave - which is the genre I'm into. In fact, I first read about Syntronik 2 in an article by Orpheus Audio Academy, in which it was described as the perfect VSTi for that genre and when I got it with IK's Total Studio Max I wasn't disappointed.

From the "No chat, no pictures, no videos" thread:
If anyone has that synth or has tried it, please let me know what you think of it.
Does anyone know that synth? I've never heard of it. I've checked the website with archive.org to see if the regular price of $99 was just a fictitious price but in the snapshots that the wayback machine has it really sold for that price, except for the first snapshot which showed it for an introduction price of $69. I'm usually skeptical when there's such a big discount.Rational wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 3:14 am Just got this email: Unsure of their quality but price is nice.

Yes, I agree with this. We're all involved in making music, which requires sound generators. I've always been baffled by the "its too many choices" or "too big of a download" mentality for tools that we'll all need. Also; who can be so sure what they will need in a few years in terms of style of music? Dont folks plan to explore and grow? At this price Syntronik 2 is a great deal.igorius wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 7:46 amI'm here to join the Syntronik 2 fan club. I love many of the sounds that it offers. Baffled? Really? Its really simple... I don't have unlimited space on my HDs or the money to keep buying more and more HDs. Especially when factoring in having to keep redundant backups of everything on the HDs I already have.
In the same way I avoid accumulating too many redundant plugins that I don't actually need, I also avoid accumulating too many things that require too much space which requires more and more purchases of HDs.
For me, exploration and potential is not about having a ton of instruments. Its about diving deep into the options available and what I already have, and using those things in new ways.

I had not heard of it either. Seems I had subscribed to their newsletter at some point though and they dropped those two emails in my inbox this week. So perhaps they are having a firesale? Not sure. I did buy both offers though and was able to download everything. It's quite a bit of stuff actually.igorius wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 8:00 am From the "No chat, no pictures, no videos" thread:Does anyone know that synth? I've never heard of it.
