I tried reinstalling the expansions from backup but get this message:
Are there updated expansion installers that work with the latest version? (I presume the problem is due to the updates somewhere down the line)Setup has not detected 2C-Aether installation in your system. Install 2C-Aether first, then run Add-on setup again.
Good question.
There is no longer a need to use installers for the Preset Expansions. You can now use the "Import Package" command in the file menu. Therefore we have new downloads for the Preset Expansions.
You can re-download the new versions here:
Galbanum | sonic science aural allusion
Use this coupon code if you qualify:
AetherExpansionsReDownload
Then simply use the "Import Package" function in the File menu in Aether, as described in the text file in download.
Installers should preserve anything in that was in /user/ previously.
final installers will preserve preset expansions and new 3rd party "packages" also--like the new B2 installers do...
Wondering if you can look into this please.
Thanks

betas by their very nature involve more steps to do and a little extra effort etc... The reward for the extra effort is that you get to start using new products and features before everyone else. The nice thing is that if it is too much effort nothing forces you to do it and you can always wait until the final update. The nature of this update cycle (being focused almost exclusively on systems coding) was such that this type of public/customer beta period is beneficial to us to be sure all issues are ironed out b/c all the changes rely on many, many third party standards and SDKs etc. So we are thankful that some people are willing to participate and provide the type of feedback that helps us make our products better.
The final update process will be as streamlined as possible and there will be one download for Perfect Storm customers.
thanks...

Thanks the response Andy. I was getting confused on what was the original releases etc (my dizzy days). Noticed several post across board regarding aether, b2, breeze and realised I was having issues with presets so followed up with the expansion packs. Anyway all good, did get a crash on a 1.51 preset but need to try and replicate. Forced Cubase 7x64 down. Is there an issue with older user presets and the new beta releases, as I would have though they'd stay the same.
BTW a medium sized gui or something like fabfilter have down to extend the GUI would be nice. I know you're busy with these releases atm but something to consider an inbetween.
Thanks for your time,

Thanks for the feedback. Several people have requested "medium-sized" GUI between normal and HD skins. Unfortunately it is not that simple to do. Perhaps in the future. IMHO the HD skins are ideal, and once you work with them for some time everything else feels tiny, despite having been perfectly usable by thousands of people over the past four years. It's like pandora's box: once you try the HD skins, you see what a software experience should look like and the small skins that were industry standard for the last 10-20 years feel tiny. IMHO we will likely see 4k displays start to become mainstream in the next 12 months and this will only exaggerate the need for larger GUIs. In fact, even the HD skins may be too small for the ideal experience at that point.
Let's live with what we have for the next six months or so and see what happens in the market during that time. Then we can reevaluate.

Some people report that old projects that used Aether 1.5.1 or Breeze 1.1.0 do not load with the proper settings now using 1.6.0b and 1.2.0b. Can anyone else confirm or deny this? Please state OS and host.

We've posted a new update for Aether and Breeze. These should fix the issue of incorrectly loading presets from old sessions.

Quick Q:
Is there an upgrade path to the other (2) if I have a license for (1)-(I have Aether)?

Thanks for the question. Yes there are cross grades discounts if you own Aether, Breeze, or B2 and wish to add another product. You can also upgrade to the Perfect Storm bundle. Please email us for additional details.

Just downloaded latest build. There are issues with this. Crazy loud volume swells in some preset that will destroy your speakers. Check some of the mystical presets in the factory library.
Also, the browser resets when you close and re-open the gui to having all preset folders expanded and it's back at the top. And you can't scroll down with the mouse wheel/trackpad. Gotat close every preset folder to get back to where you were.
I'm on OSX 10.8.4 using VST.

I think what I reported in the Breeze thread might be related to this. The project loads up and immediately starts generating a FS signal on initialization. I've sent the project to 2cAudio.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Just downloaded latest build. There are issues with this. Crazy loud volume swells in some preset that will destroy your speakers. Interesting. Not sure what's going on with Aether but I'm Andrew will sort it out when he's back from vacation (if I recall correctly).Breeze wrote:I think what I reported in the Breeze thread might be related to this. Greetings from the top of a little mountain/hill I just hiked with my parents, sister, her two kids, and the family dog. It's a regular Grizzwald Vacation moment!
20 mile hike over three real mountains tomorrow. That's going to hurt.

If you still have reception up there, keep hiking: you're clearly not far enough...Galbanum wrote:Greetings from the top of a little mountain/hill I just hiked with my parents, sister, her two kids, and the family dog. It's a regular Grizzwald Vacation moment!![]()
