OK ... that's what I want. But I thought last night when I had a go at 31, it lit when I pressed it, but did not stay lit in the interim after I released it. Even though Pitch Hold was on.

I'll double check later.

No it's in the next version, I've added it today :)

I'll try it, i just overwrote the previous betas but the pdf is inside the vst plugin folder and there's just an uninstall icon in the start menu.

Don't think the lp will work too well with nrpns, can't get the parameters to the right values; sequence length goes to about 14 then jumps back to the beginning. Tried different combinations but all it affects is the number of steps the sequence jumps with each button press...

try setting them as absolute values so that they only have one state, for example on = 16, off = 16, otherwise when switched off the will go to the off value if that makes sense! :)

LOL! You're sneaky ... I'd already run to fire up my DAW and was just going to tell it wasn't working.

While we're on the global keyboard issue ... and this can certainly wait, but I think it's where you need to go.

1. Forget the blue keys from C2 to B3, since the white keys below C1 and the white keys above the Repitch octave also work normally.

2. You may as well let the effects octave, C1 to B1, move, as you do with the Repitch octave. If you have 88 keys or even 61, most people will want to move those octaves to the extreme ends, so it is easy to play all the working trigger keys in between the special purpose octaves.

BTW ... I'm not seeing any link to open the manual, either.

I'll get the new one out in the next few hours, still working on it at the moment. :)

Well the blue keys denote the C3/C4 octaves which have advanced controls, I'm adding an octave transpose for these octaves too so that they can be changed to the most useful range.

I have thought about that but there will be another octave of triggers in v1.1 below it which complicates the issue, so for now they are fixed.

I know, it's a shame but the triggers have CCs so they can assigned, and I could possibly do the same for the pitch triggers :)

I only have 4 octaves, and V leaves me feeling hungry for more, I've actually been looking for second hand 5 octave versions of the X-Station, mine is a bit worse for wear anyhow and it would mean I can use it purely as a synth which is great :) It's a very nice synth, but unfortunately can't be used at the same time as it is used as a controller keyboard.

But I would imagine that people with 25s are used to using the octave keys frequently!

Dang ... missed this too. I'll have to take a look at those 'advanced controls.'

///// BETA 32
* Keyboard Octave now displays for whatever pitch mode is selected
* Pitch Keys now have their own hold mode and so the keys will stick on the display. This is also independent to the other Hold mode.
* Octave Offset Transpose Lists added to the Advanced page for Octaves C3 and C4 - Allow shifting the entire octave to a different Pitch
* Pitch Triggers now have rescale ability!

Sorry it didn't get out sooner but it was worth the wait for the re-scalers for the pitch triggers :)

Wow, Andy!

Have you been up all night finishing this?

Take care of yourself!

I don't have time for this tonight ... but I did load it in my laptop, just to take a look.

The repitch rescale is absolutely awesome!

Yep it was long day :) But I realised that I'd already modularized the Scale system to use squash and the multi so it wasn't as big a job as I'd first imagined. It has made a big difference, in fact it's pretty much the same as ARP now. It's nice to be able to get away from the 'transposed' sound.

Incidentally you could also just set all the pitch triggers to zero and just use the the triggers for rescaling :)

Hopefully I'll get the manual updated today!

Andy,

Do you intend to at least make a categorical list of the Ammonite presets?

If I recall, you don't intend to create any single name presets, but I find too much 'pig in a poke' in randomly selecting a number to see what sound it will bring.

I was thinking you might at least include a bank listing with categories in the manual as an alternative, you know, 'Bass 1-17,' 'Keys 18-31,' 'Guitar 32-39,' etc.

We have diatonic chords!

For the Key of C, use 3 sequencers (5 for Major and dominant 7ths), don't load squash2scale, write your pattern off of C2 in the first sequence, then copy it to the others and on each successive one shift it the proper interval from root C, i.e., third, fifth, etc.

Go to the Repitch octave, disreqarding the black keys ... you can use them for other things ... set C4 to 0 and no load, D4 to 2 and load Dorian, E4 to 4 and load Phrygian, etc.

Now when you play your sequences together you get a C chord. Press D4 and instant Dmin. Press E4 and instant Em, etc.

And you still have 7 to 9 sequencers, depending whether you are making triads or tetrachords, left for drums, percussion, bass and synth lines ... plus those extra sharp/ flat repitch keys for some fancy footwork.

As an aside, I think you should consider a convention where you place your drums and percs on the same sequences each time ... maybe C# and D# with both set to midi channel 10, or something like that.

Why? Well coming out the other end, either with GM hardware using channel 10 or direct outs into drum processing in your DAW or hardware, it would be convenient to know you could slap in any Vortex preset and your other setup is already to 'rock and roll,' without having to reset things to get your drums coming through the desired routing.

Anyway, I plan to scheme like this when I start working on my own presets.
