I think I like it better when devs keep things quiet about upcoming products. Next month (hopefully) it would be a great surprise to have Urs release the Pro-5. Hearing about this months ago, I now keep wasting my time coming to this thread in hopes of hearing about an ETA.
just being funny though. I'll try and be a patient little boy.

Somtimes checking in here starts to feel like the equivalent of comic book fans / nerds who go to see the latest Marvel movie, but are actually more interested in the post-credit teaser sequence revealing some gimmick about the NEXT movie...

Ya. Don't announce this unless you're weeks away from release. Slate is notorious for dragging customers by the leash. Not a reputation you wanna compete with... best of luck getting repro 5 finished soon.

I don't get what the fuss is about. Repro-5 is available when its ready. Even if that is 5 years from today - if it's still competitive in what it delivers - who cares? It's not like a date was announced and not made.
Don't tell me you can't finish up your current album / song / score because Repro-5 isn't available yet. No need to go huffing and puffing just because you see synths as toys to satisfy gear lust with (as much of an emotional reaction as this comment'll cause - think about it for a second before you respond).
Go and make music with what you got in the meantime

Na. Oddly enough, I enjoy being part of the development, even if it is a purely passive participation.krismiller1982 wrote:Ya. Don't announce this unless you're weeks away from release. (And you don't expect a master chef to serve a half-baked cake. That is a reputation you don't want!)

Well, we rented a booth space for a couple of thousand bucks and invested countless hours to make "show off Repro-5" happen. That's why it was announced.
Funny enough, the product itself has been "final enough for beta testing" for a few weeks, even before we said we might go public. It's because of other developments that have been going on for much longer that we decided to wait until these are finished. Which will make for a much better product.
(as for reputation... we done worse... not proud of it, but shit happens)

No, no, no...this would spoil it for all us synth nerds. It's FUN here and all of the chatter about what's upcoming like feature wishes and u-he's responses and even the silliness can be part of the creative process.
It's all about discovery and learning. Creativity is problem solving, problem solving is learning, and learning is asking questions. Change your questions and your awareness changes. And these kind of threads prompt lots of new questions.

I wish I had so little going on in my life that I could spend time having tantrums on forums about stuff I can't buy yet.
