Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Feb 21, 2019 8:40 pm It is getting closer, we will release today no delay of the date (and within EST as I had replied at least on the IK forum and I think it got reiterated here via DarkStar if I recall correctly without scrolling/going to previous pages at the moment).
Whelp, had I known I was full of **** up there, I would have said so! I and others here absolutely thought and were told there weren't any delays expected. So I do apologize for relaying that with confidence not knowing that there was a bump in the road ahead. I'll eat a hat or a crow (fully cooked at least, please?) if need be but we've got some unfortunate news but it isn't as bad as it could be at least! The team should have everything good to go very soon.

Really. I'm obviously not happy to bear this news and I really REALLY and fully expected the release to go smoothly after a slight bump but... Apparently that was not

Anyway, We've also posted this on our website here. But here's the message to save you a click and for full transparency:
SampleTank 4 Update: Thank you for your incredible amount of excitement, anticipation, and most of all - your patience.

Sorry for the delays as we work out some unforeseen issues with the upload to your User Area. We expect everything to be ready to go first thing tomorrow morning, February 22, 2019. You can still look forward to a weekend with SampleTank 4, and we look forward to you getting to know this product of which we are extremely proud.

We thank you for your understanding and patience, and hope you will go forward to make some amazing music with SampleTank 4.

Ah sorry if I missed that! They will also be on their way when the downloads are available.

Great, thanks!

Far better to take the extra time and get it right. I appreciate a company being open and honest about issues, work through them, then move on. Thanks for keeping us updated, Peter.

Also, Peter, the recording evolution it’s offering Sampletank, t-racks and amplitube for a subscription for their vip community. The offered it’s sampletank 3 se, this means that now we will receive sampletank 4 se?

probably not, unless they have a deal in place.

OK I have now downloaded ST4 program :tu: (standard version not MAX or SE) and I am also downloading all the sounds! Seems you have to do each part individually :cry:

I notice that under Sound Downloads it shows, for example, ST4 Acoustic Drum Kit Sample Part 1 and then Part 4. Is that because you only get parts 2 and 3 with the MAX version or is there something missing from my downloads?

It's the same with pianos, guitars etc.

Thanks Peter

what a bloody mess. looking at the naming convention of these files no wonder it took forever to 'get it right'. life is simpler when a systematic approach is employed. it is much easier to put on your pants before your shoes lol

I'm wondering what might be the best strategy for a SampleTank 3 Max user (and ST2 before that) to download the new ST4 Max content. I crossgraded to ST4 Max.

Is all the content new? For example, the first two sound installation packages include folders labeled 'SampleTank 3 Sound Content' -- Looks like there might be some double up in place...

Can't I simply:
1. Download new content - (if I could possibly differentiate between the old and new) ;
2. Consolidate it with the existing ST3 sound library on my computer;
3. .....

Actually, I'm a Miroslav Philharmonik 2, Syntronik Deluxe, ST3, ST2 user so all my pre-existing sound packages have been consolidated into a single IK Multimedia Folder which I point the various software packages toward. I typically access everything through the ST3 interface.

Not exacty clear yet on how to make this as smooth as possible. Any ideas?

EDIT: It seems that the sound downloads area is 'under construction' - maybe. I checked back and the 1st file is 'SampleTank 4 Max Instruments.dmg'. Previously it was 'Alan_Parsons_Imperial_Grand_Sound_Content.dmg'. So, maybe it won't be so difficult to figure out what's new and what's not...

The approach I've taken – having sprung for the Max upgrade on the basis that the Jam-point discount made the step up viable – is to download the ST3 packs I hadn't already picked up through group buys and the ST4 content. As the files are all subdivided, it's fairly easy to compare what I've got versus what's in the download, though it is a crap-ton of files to sift through. In principle, I think what needs to happen is to install the new content and then point ST4 at it.

i sure hope the download speed is better this time than it was with SampleTank 3. it was agonizing downloading those.
