Anybody go from Simple Monsters to Dehumanizer 2? I can't tell if it's worth it (seems a bunch of onboard effects are added to Dehumanizer 2, but I have plenty of effect plugins)?

If you haven't already, and really it's a no-brainer, but consider spending some money on drive backups and maybe a battery UPS device.
I'm busy reinstalling software after a 1 second power drop this morning fried my SSD. The PC was plugged into a surge suppressor (Furman rack) but that didn't matter.
After many hours of working with the drive in an external USB box, I managed to pull my song files and much of my personal data off the drive (PHEW!). But I am still left with reinstalling software, registration, and attempting to clear all the old registrations from the no-longer accessible one.
It indeed would have been smarter to just spend a bit on some protections. After over 25 years, it finally caught up with me.

You can buy used fully working Adaptec RAID Hardware PCI-E cards on eBay at very cheap prices (even as low as $30 for a 5805 or $50 for a 71605 depending on sellers) to create RAID-5 arrays with SSD (or RAID-50 , 6, 60 too).VitaminD wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 11:06 pm If you haven't already, and really it's a no-brainer, but consider spending some money on drive backups and maybe a battery UPS device.

Also there are refurbished APC UPS Smart units at prices as low as 30% of the new in shop still on eBay usually. A APC UPS Smart unit even if used is still way better than consumer grade models. The Smart series is Line Interactive pure sine wave capable. So more prosumer/enterprise level.

Ehh.. just taking an image of the drives periodically and a simple UPS backup to shutdown gently would have been great and mitigated a lot of pain.

But my backup takes 2 days each time. And it's noisy--where I sleep. Pausing it takes all the longer.

It may be that version 6 comes out. V5 has already taken its time. I have the Melodyne Editor, I don't know if it's a good idea to upgrade to Studio now. I also have an Essential license in case anyone wants to upgrade to Assistant at a good price.Kalamata Kid wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:31 pmMy guess is that Melodyne 6 will be released anytime between August and December 2024.everyPlugin.com wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2024 10:00 am Celemony Melodyne update and upgrade sale starts now.

Will run throughout June.
More likely October 2024 but I wish it will be this August.

If you're offering up your essential license, I would make good use of it (and I won't resell it). If so, feel free to PM your code. I was waiting on this product because eventually i figured I'd buy one of the many things it comes free with (izotope nectar, etc).maldomusica wrote: Wed Jun 05, 2024 1:58 pmIt may be that version 6 comes out. Can someone say what is the UVI upgrade path for Key Suite Bundle Edition? Say, you own Austrian Grand, Model D and Key Suite Electric, how do I know the upgrade price (I need to know it now before buying individual parts on sale)? Is there any point to buying individual parts of it?
Key Suite seems like the only good comprehensive piano collection, which can be bought under 100 with vouchers, so I'm just trying to find out how it works.

A comprehensive piano collection will be going on sale for $49.99 in 2 weeks. You can get a taste of what it sounds like by getting the Lite version, which you can download for free by entering coupon code "FreeBoz" on the checkout page:

Also, for EP sounds, I highly recommend checking out Martinic Pianet T. It's physical modeling, like Pianoteq:

I am not sure UVI do discounted upgrades on any of their products except Vintage Vault.wayford wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 5:31 pm Can someone say what is the UVI upgrade path for Key Suite Bundle Edition?

They also offer upgrades between versions for a while after a new version is released e.g. when Synth Anthology 4 came out I could upgrade from v3 for €49

Thanks for the recommendation. I had dismissed this because I already had Keyscape but this is indeed a brilliant instrument for a fair price. I've just spent 30 minutes playing with it. At some point, I added AberrantDSP's Lair on top to get even deeper vibes. Fun!Uncle E wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:30 pm Also, for EP sounds, I highly recommend checking out Martinic Pianet T.
