You know...I do have a small garden. I actually attempted to grow a variety of fruit and flowers since May. Apparently...I don't know much about gardening. Still waiting on those watermelons..........

Nah when I flip a house I'm flipping to SELL...if it's messy that's just another monthly mortage payment to be met. My partner is a real estate agent, and thankfully her office holds "classes" on staging open house presentations on your own so you won't have to pay anyone else to do it for you.

We flipped another one the Friday before Omnisphere's release. Here's a pic of the living room....

This took place right before settlement so there's no evidence of staging. No need...we already sold the place.

Nice carpet though...

over here "flip houses" is criminal slang for burglary, so im kinda glad you cleared that up.
although there is a slim line between estate agent and criminal...

Well see over HERE if you're even slighty educated enough to know how to buy smart and hire a trustworthy contractor.....

....Which actually requires A LOT of trust being that most many contractors are indeed ex-felons...which is why they're handymen...

Yeah as long as you have good enough credit to secure a bank loan and the smarts(of course) to invest in a good deal....anyone can flip a house.

Don't worry though. We're not criminals. We're not gardeners either.

I'm piddling around with this, and found that when I load a multi, all cores are used, but when I start playing the keyboard, only the first core is used. I loaded up all eight part to see what I can get away with, and it can't be done on my system, unless I'm happy playing one or two notes. My audio starts making popcorn when the first core hits about 75%.

What is your host sequencer?

If it's Cubase SX3 then there is something to try.

Go to devices, device set up, then on the VST audiobay click on 'expert'. Tick the multiprocessing box. All four cores should be responding to your needs.

anyone here tryed omnisphere on a macpro?
I've ordered it but i'm a little afraid
about the cpu % when loading many patches.
I will use it for an ambient project
loading sounds on all the 8 channels.
I have a macpro 2.66 with 4gb of ram.
Any feedback is appreciated.

im running it on a macpro 8core and i can have more than 20 Omniparts(before i run out of ideas!) and still have a shitload of CPU headroom left.
So i would say theres nothing to be afraid of!

same spec as me, works great in logic 8.

I have seen none of the long load problems (some) windows users are having either.

Not all Windows users... Omnisphere loads faster than Stylus RMX or kore here...

According to the other thread on this subject the long load times on windows might have to do with a cluttered windows\temp directory. Try cleaning that out if you're having this problem.

I have Cubase4 with updates, the multi processor button is clicked. The first core,and only the first core gets used. Just for grins, I used SX3, cuz it's still on my pooter, and it does it different, it uses all the cores, but only uses one core at a time, in other words, each core gets maxed out and the cracks and pops insue, each core takes a turn at failing to handle the load, It never spreads it around to all the cores at any time.

Now with Kontakt3 It spread it around to two cores evenly, and I got much better results, unfortunately it didn't spread the processing over all four cores. Whats up wit dat?

So how does this work? Is it the job of the plugin to tell the host program how to use the cores? Who is holding the bag here?

Generally speaking, it is the job of the host to spread processing across the cores. Attempts in the past by plugins to spread their own processing across the cores have usually not worked well because that can interfere with the strategy the host is using to balance the load. The fact is, only the host has the big picture of all the things the user is trying to do, so the job of balancing across the cores is best left to the host.
