I need a cord holder for 1/8" cables. Mine are all over the table in front of the modular and it's not really working. Any suggestions?

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

literally been doing that this morning; butchers hooks on an expanding curtain rod.

long ones hang over the trucks, of an old blind deck, leaning against the wall, at the end of the modular.
at the other end, there's a hook ups deck, no cables there though, just got balance (and i had the deck  )

Compared to Eurorack, it's decent value at that price point...
Compared to Eurorack, gold-plated toilet paper is a decent value! :hihi:

Build two (or more) large modules that are nothing but grid-arrays of unconnected 1/8" jacks. Install those into your modular, spaced far apart, and randomly plug both ends of all your extra cables into those unconnected jacks. The idea is, always keep all your cables plugged in at all times, even if they're just randomly plugged into these 'dummy' modules. Your friends will think you always have such elaborate patches, with tons of cables always being used, and you must be a genius to keep track of it all! :hihi:

Well, certainly! But, I've looked, and I can't find anything that is more appealing to me as a semi-modular at the moment. I'm realizing, as I build my modular, that I really like semi-modular synths as the center of a voice. I'm not going to lie, I'm tempted, very tempted.

I mean, I can just buy something, but it was kind of a serious request. I have a LOT of cables and they're a mess and I can't find the ones that I need when I need them. I think that I'll just pick up one of those round ones that goes on the top of a mic stand so that I can easily move it out of the way, or, into the mix, as needed.

erica do one, looks like a comb, you slide them in to the gaps between the teeth.
i like rabbyts meat hook suggestion tbh.
my skateboard was also a serious answer, its what i use. im pretty sure, like most people, you have something useless somewhere, that could be utilised.
even a towel rail would do for example. (the missus might miss it from the bathroom, but blame gnomes)

Yeah, I get that I can google them. I know what they look like. I was hoping that some people had been using them and had a preference for reasons. I see now that you're all a bunch of cheap-skates and are just tossing them across the back of a chair like a peasant.

i spend enough on the bloody cables, without giving them special treatment as well.
