btw i just saw this on Twitter,http: //peavey.com/ampkitlink/
an iphoneapp ampkit, used for something new like an ampkitlink (the same guys made guitartoolkit,tabtoolkit), and i wanted to know what you guys think
is it a perfect match for a yourockguitar and iphone?? do i even need the ampkitlink with the yourockguitar ?

I guess I'm excited because it finally shipped after months of waiting, and while it does many things, the one thing I need it to do it seems to be doing very well. Especially since samples are so awesome these days. And cheap. We're in a whole other world of sampled instruments' audio quality from just 10 years ago. And now all accessible by guitarists on a budget.

Yeah I know! I bought 8GB of samples for use with SampleTank XT a few weeks ago for $50, and they sound great!! It's going to go perfect with the YRG.

That pull-off solution you came up with is one of the main things that make the Yamaha EZ-XG unplayable as a midi controller (without some complicated midi app). Obviously you don't want your fretted strings auto-triggering on left-hand release, either open or on the notes they were just fretting. Yamaha has a similar solution to yours for the internal sounds (which makes it quite playable in that mode), but not for external sounds.

I've been experimenting lately using my Korg PadKontrol for note/chord entry. It's pretty much totally flexible for any way you want to program it's 16 pads. It's neat because it let's you rapidly jump intervals in a way you'd never think of on a guitar or keyboard, and it never glitches. I love that thing, especially with all the MIDI plug in tools in Cubase

Triggering entire chords or an arpeggiation with one key/pad is always a cool midi trick. Once you drill down to individual notes, why not just use a keyboard or a midi guitar?

Got mine this morning. really enjoying it. not perfect but it gets the job done pretty well.

I'll have a youtube video up tonight at some point. I have a few more hours of work left and then on with a screencap demo.
