ok...
so im generally pretty poor at rolling my own sounds. not only am i not very good at it, but i dont enjoy it much (chicken/egg deal i guess). no biggie, i usually tweek some presets and pile on ass loads of effects to change the sound to what i want it to be.
serum has given me new hope. i actually kind of had some fun playing around with it.
now i realize this isnt a good patch...and its pretty simple...but for ME to be able to make this completely from scratch, in as little time as it took me to figure out how to do it...well thats something indeed.
made from a couple of old hanna barbera cartoon sound effects... pure serum, no added effects or post processing whatsoever.

Really cool!! I'm very thrilled by the Audio-Term support!blacktomcat666 wrote:Here are some wavetables made with Audio-Term, including some PPG/Waldorf - like stuff.

These files have the correct wavetable header, you can put them directly into the wavetable folder.
However just a heads-up (no pun intended?) in the header:
Code: Select all
<!>2048 11000000I'm not sure it's a problem per-se, but more to make you aware. User-saved tables inside Serum aren't tagged as such, to avoid "table missing" messages re-opening songs after re-install, collborating on songs with others, and the like.
Cheers!
Steve

These are very nice and interesting stuff, not usually we are getting useful, working tables
and some even speaking!![]()

@PietW: i'm confused, it was an exe file? What to do with it?
Is it the same waves what we have in Zebra?
ALT1.WAV__3515_i1341300391_il1855097.exe
There is 3 different download link but all of them become an exe file
if i rename it to ALT1.wav it will freeze when i try to loading to Serum

Thats a bummer, - i did some patches from these, can we remove the the second "1"?bitcrusher wrote:Really cool!! I'm very thrilled by the Audio-Term support!blacktomcat666 wrote:Here are some wavetables made with Audio-Term, including some PPG/Waldorf - like stuff.

However just a heads-up (no pun intended?) in the header:the second '1' implies a factory table, which means the table data will not save inside presets/songs. Thus if sharing a preset/song with another user, the other user will also need that same wavetable located in the same /Tables/ subfolder location.Code: Select all
<!>2048 11000000
Cheers!

One easy fix would be to open the patch and open WT editor on the table(s), make an edit (e.g. pencil on waveform) and then click Undo. Now the table is "edited" and will save in the patch (you'll see the disk icon). You could also save that table if you wanted to and the second '1' won't be there. Alternatively you can edit the headers in a hex editor or maybe a wave editor. I could email modified ones to you if you contact me (steve@xferrecords.com) In any case you're going to need to resave said presets one way or another if you want to share them with others (without the others needing those tables also).Thats a bummer, - i did some patches from these, can we remove the the second "1"?

OK here's a Kore 2 template for Serum - covers pretty much all automatable params with a Macro page that also includes the OSC warp and sweep functions for fast access
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/564 ... mplate.ksd
Unfortunately this plugin doesn't support batch preset import into Kore - but it's got a really well laid out interface with macro controls so apart from that it works well with Kore.

I totally love the direction this thread went. From announcement to release over to users and sound designers sharing their ideas, sketches and tracks. Quite different from most other synth/fx threads. Keep it up.

So I acquired the Architecture Waveforms 2010 from Galbanum, and it's a crazy amount of high quality waveforms.
Making wavetables with it in the Serum editor is a huge pain. Very repetitive and hard to know how it sounds like
or even what waveforms to combine (it works great at creating tables from existing samples of course!)
Is there some easy way to combine multiple .wavs into one?
Found two tools that seems able to do it: ffmpg and shntool, but maybe there is something more convenient
with a gui?

Do you use the morph function in the Serum editor? I would just load 2, or 3 or 4 waves from Galbanum, use the morph and see how it turns out. Not sure if that is what you're doing?asksol wrote:So I acquired the Architecture Waveforms 2010 from Galbanum, and it's a crazy amount of high quality waveforms.
