Aha…maybe that's why Yamaha bought Steinberg (these were almost certainly made by Steinberg at Yamaha's request). Would be cool if they added some synths to the collection. Nobody has done a good CS-80 emulation yet, and there should definitely be a CS-30 emulation as well.

Here's some news right back - not only is this not true, it was *never* true.Atlatnesiti wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 12:00 pmI’ve got news for you - Yamaha owns Korg as well, so go and figure
Just trying to at least hold back the spread of uninformed misinformation...

well, there was once a controlling interest, but not since 1993, i believe.

Yep. But Yamaha never "owned" them, they remained separate entities, and Korg bought back Yamaha's interest in them in subsequent years.JamminFool wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 3:17 pm well, there was once a controlling interest, but not since 1993, i believe.

Ahem...
I'm not Steve and I didn't say that.
Maybe watch your quotes.
(Steve is planetearth?)
Along the lines of Korg/Yamaha history though. Yamaha bought Sequential around the same time as they had controlling interest in Korg. Wavestation was born from that shared technology acquired by the Sequential buy out.

AFAIK, they were developed by a Yamaha engineer, and then handled to Steinberg for distribution.Arashi wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 4:22 amAha…maybe that's why Yamaha bought Steinberg (these were almost certainly made by Steinberg at Yamaha's request).

Actually, I don't think it's that bad. Sure, it could be more graphic in some sections, but still...

I have zero issues with Wavestation's GUI, personally. It's far far from the worst GUI ever.

I always liked Wavestation UI (as well all of Korg legacy plugs UI's. MS20,Polysix - top design imo), frankly, more than new Korg plugs interfaces (despite they big size).
