I thought the new UVI PX Waveframe looked familiar… They sold a Waveframe soundset several years ago, but now I don’t see it on their site.
Maybe the new one is just a repackaged version of their old one?

Sorry, I don't think so. We've only ever sold Waveform upgrades.

I wasn't able to find GForce IconDrum using JRRshop's Search.
(just a friendly FYI; thanks for offering the best price)

Yeah I have the old UVI Waveframe library, I didn't use it that much because it sounded kind of anemic. This one supposedly has new presets and they added their latest effects, not sure if there are new samples or not. I bought the upgrade for $29, UI seems better and seems to be some different presets, I think it sounds better than the old one but I haven't gone through and compared anything yet. I'm enjoying playing with it more than the old one though so hopefully it was worth the $$$ for the upgrade.Examigan wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 12:57 am I thought the new UVI PX Waveframe looked familiar… They sold a Waveframe soundset several years ago, but now I don’t see it on their site.

I think, but I'm not sure, the original library was a bit different from their others in that it was the factory library from the Waveframe given/ bought from the owner of the company. Again, my feeeling was that it was ported from the hardware rather than played via the hardware, I could be wrong. My assumption, yet again, is that this time they have actually got a Waveframe at UVI HQ, sampled from the machine and made some new samples and again recorded those.
But I could be entirely wrong.
(as an aside, I think I have E-mu samples that are direct from the hardware ROMs from Digital Sound Factory and they don't sound that great either. I suspect they sound better when played from the hardware. And no doubt UVI record the output from machines via various goodies)

Would have jumped on both Waldorf’s recent retro releases, Microwave and Blofeld, but they just seem too expensive to me. And you know at some point they’re getting knocked out for way less, just need to be patient.

Should I really buy Vegas Pro and Soundforge Pro AGAIN even though I hardly used the versions I have from the last humble bundle?
The little voice says "But if you don't, they might not do another humble bundle ever again!".

Is the UAD Pure Plate Reverb a demo? I haven't installed it yet, but the iLok license says it's a 30 day trial only.

Thanks AAS and Arturia for the freebies (and sprnva for sharing the links)!
Much appreciated.

You probably clicked on the 'Click for Free Trial' link on the top. If you scrolled lower on the product page there was a free gift link instead. I had wondered if they were the same, but I'm guessing now that no they are unique outcomes when clicked.thenumber23 wrote: Thu Dec 19, 2024 11:37 pm Is the UAD Pure Plate Reverb a demo? I really dislike UAD's "hey you already have this free plugin, no worries here have a $25 voucher instead that expires very soon and requires a $50 purchase which means you have to spend at least $58 because our cheapest plugins on sale are $29 each" thing.

Show 'em who's boss and buy 2 plugins!
On a somewhat related note, Plugin Boutique has the UAD Studio Classics Bundle for $59 USD - https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/ ... Exclusive-
Plus you can choose a freebie.
They say it's an exclusive offer, but apparently only for the UK because Sweetwater also has it - https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... -in-bundle
"This bundle features five legendary tools: the Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection, LA-6176 Signature Channel Strip, Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb, Ampex ATR-102 Mastering Tape Recorder, and the 175B & 176 Tube Compressor Collection."
I'm only mildly annoyed
that I can't use the $25 voucher on it or the Electronic Music Bundle (which everyplugin.com has at a very attractive price) because UAD doesn't sell them on their site.

This is recent too, last year I bought a few plugins for 8 bucks from UAD by stacking those coupons on top of sales prices, which were well under $100.Gribs wrote: Fri Dec 20, 2024 1:27 am I really dislike UAD's "hey you already have this free plugin, no worries here have a $25 voucher instead that expires very soon and requires a $50 purchase which means you have to spend at least $58 because our cheapest plugins on sale are $29 each" thing.
