You got some great gritty sounds there :tu:
Enjoyed over on this side of the planet

Thanks. It's a song from our last album, I just stripped out the verses and the middle chorus. What's interesting about it is that there are two analogue and two digital synths and I'd be surprised if anyone could work out which is which. It would be a lucky guess, at best.

Except there isn't. Not in my experience, anyway. I'm on the Insider Programme so I mostly work on beta builds of Win10 and I have never encountered even the slightest problem. I hated Win7. For my money it is the worst version of Windows I have used since 3.11. They moved everything around in Control Panel for absolutely no reason, they completely stuffed the Start Menu and they broke Windows Media Player. None of the issues with Vista were addressed, all of them were carried over into W7. It was awful. I stayed on XP for as long as I could and I got onto the Win8 Beta at the earliest opportunity. All-up, I reckon I spent less than a year with Win7 at home (several more years at work). It feels so clunky these days, I don't know how anyone puts up with it. Those hideous fat window borders, the retina-searing white everywhere.

So, Windows 10 updates are untested now. Interesting. I thought they'd go through internal tests, and 3 insider rings. Well... guess when you use Linux all day long, you'll lose your touch with reality.

There are only two Insider Rings - fast and slow. I work on Slow Ring betas all the time, they are rock solid.

OK. Thought there were 3, as stated here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Insider But, i never really was insider, so, i don't know.

Those Wikipedia options don't gel with what's available once you sign up, at least to people on my side of the world.

It should equate to end of use if you are no longer getting security updates. Any sane company will avoid developing for EOL OSes that aren't even getting security updates.

Source: Many years in IT. Though I'm a fan of Linux server-side (and headless, always) for desktop use Windows is solid when properly configured and when users don't do stupid things. Also, I'm actually a Windows 7 user on my studio computer BUT there's no way in hell I'll use it much beyond January 14 2020 for the above reasons. I do use Windows 10 on two gaming machines here in my home but I am not on any of the insider rings (only on Xbox, but I'm not in the Alpha / Skip Ahead there so I don't see much in the way of issues).

Sorry Peter but Dave knows me better than you do. I don't get excited about anything until I can hear what it does. You may recall that I was very skeptical about Uno until I got to hear it for myself.

We haven't played live for a while so I've not yet had a chance to use it on stage but that's what we are working towards at the moment. Here's a sample of where we're at, if you're interested. The drums are from Orion but all the synths are hardware - Pulse 2, Uno, Skulpt and MicroMonsta. See if you can guess correctly which is which.

Then I was right, I deserved it! I can admit that. You may or may not have need for what this actually is, too, and that's absolutely valid.

Nice job on the sample. I'll listen to it more closely in the studio later too.

It appears to be a boom-tish machine.

God I'll be glad when we get bored of these things again.

Note that the UNO Synth Editor got a great update today: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=unoeditorupdate

(librarian feature likely being the most sought-after addition)

Nice! Glad to see that the editor is still getting some attention.

Likely doing a preorder on the Uno Drum.. to add to the Uno (Arc II , MicroMonitors and all the rest of the IK Software Suite that I have purchased). Got some Jam points which might just make it doable.
