Ideally we would have options, and hopefully one of those options is something built for fast, real time applications.
They have Nitro already. They could expose it. But actually they took measures to prevent it ... I think this hack is nowadays no longer possible https://github.com/zezic/bitwig-device-hacks

Yeah i mentioned nitro a few comments ago

Why it's logical to assume 6.0 is coming after 5.3 ?
I understand if some really big changes are coming you could skip few numbers to get the next even number, but it's not even the half way there yet.

It's a lot easier for marketing to push Bitwig 6.0 as being a big update that it would be Bitwig 2.23

Bitwig updates:
2.5 -> 3
3.3 -> 4
4.4 -> 5

That's not how version numbers work – if they wanted to, they could keep counting way past 5.9, 5.10, 5.11, and so on.

In the end these numbers are relatively arbitrary and more indicative of how "big" the release is supposed to look for the sake of marketing.

A bitwig streamer mentioned that bitwig themselves talked to him about 6.0

It’s a YouTube short by Polarity “Bitwig 6, Merch & Superbooth”

Post

Yeah I just came here to mention that -- Polarity talked about v6 in a video he just published. This is exciting and I have high hopes for 6, also I just renewed my upgrade plan.

I would really love to see audio time stretch in the arranger! The current method is slow and takes too many clicks.
Built-in retrospective midi and maybe audio. (I use a plugin to do this now). Midi comping. Cant think of anything else this moment.

Maybe I don't understand what you mean. It's one click and drag with the alt/option key held down to stretch a clip in Arrange.

Jfc I apologize. You *can* hold alt IN THE ARRANGER, but I missed when that happened and have been using the clip view to drag audio for stretching. My bad -- I dont usually miss shit like this, and Im sorry for that.

I'm only responding to this so that you get the notification. Any speculation or news about updates to the grid? Or, do you have an particular things that you'd like to see in grid?

I have no clue what they might do. I assume they will eventually add the ability for users to create Polymer like GUI's. One particular thing I'd like... to be able to track individual incoming notes.

Once in a while someone mentions a feature and I realize that I had learned it and then completely forgotten it :dog:
