Not "free". It requires the creation of two different accounts then logins then the use of a coupon code. That's called Dataware and of course we're all going to use fake names and addresses so it's all pointless.miracz wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 1:51 pm SLS Earth II For Pigments and Analog Lab V by Vicious Antelope (limited-time free)

Not worth it for a few presets. (this is a public service announcement for those who don't have the time or desire to jump through hoops for a few presets).

That is a bit harsh. I haven't always been satisfied by his responses but at least he is engaging. Would you prefer that IK just completely ignore all requests posted on KVR? I think the promotions and update pricing at IK are annoying but 'scummy' is going too far - in my personal opinion at least. Actually, for the current promo Peter has been really responsive and I appreciate his posts.Scotty Ellis wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 5:44 pmwaxtrax wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 12:13 am In Peter's defense, he is a representative for a vendor, and there is only so much he is going to be able to say in any particular situation. Don't take it personally. If you're not satisfied, don't support the vendor.
Peter needs no defense. He's a company shill. A salesman. Nothing more. I choose not to support such a scummy company.

I agree skyman...some of these responses regarding the IK rep are way over the top. As if working for a company as a sales rep is an indictable offense.skyman88882002 wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 6:14 pmThat is a bit harsh. Over the years I've seen him go from easy going regular guy to rather bitter and hostile. I can understand the amount of vitriol you get on such a job can weigh on you. However, your job is still front facing sales/marketing so it doesn't really help you be outwardly negative. It will just set the tone for everyone else interacting with you.
That said I still don't fully blame him. He has a difficult task defending and supporting a company that has made some really lousy moves over the years.
But I'm generally not really a fan of sales representatives within non-corporate forums. They don't help with tech support, they often don't help with customer support, they will tell you they aren't sales, but then wont say what their job is. They just say login to the user account and submit a ticket. So it is really more a marketing/corporate presence job.
Drew @ UA is similar. Don't like the prices? submit feedback in the portal. Have an issue with your account? Submit feedback in the portal. Want to see something go on sale? Submit feedback in the portal. Want to see a new product released? Submit feedback in the portal. So why exactly are you here if you just tell us to submit feedback in the portal?

That's true. I know first hand. I once worked taking calls, providing tech support for a large co. decades back. It was horrible.Scotty Ellis wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 9:53 pmThat's the result of working for a shitty company.VitaminD wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 9:27 pm He has a difficult task defending and supporting a company that has made some really lousy moves over the years.
It gets on you.
I didn't allow it to make me behave horribly to others though.

Drew @ UA's interactions with people online actually makes me want to support the company less. The condescending tone in many of his posts is really off-putting.

Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.
