As a plugin developer and a longtime JRRShop buyer/Uncle E fan:
JRR often has the best prices.
vs.
Buying directly from the developer means I get to keep more money, as I don't have to give a percentage to a 3rd-party seller.
I don't think there's a right or a wrong, just do what feels best to you.

Will JRR have another Polyverse sale this season?Uncle E wrote: Mon Dec 22, 2025 1:42 am IK’s free version of Tonex is excellent, as well. Easily enough to be the only amp plugin someone uses.

There is an upgrade path from any version for $75. Have they been also upgrading/improving the separate parts of Reason? I had tried it many years ago, mainly just for Thor, and it seemed pretty good. I am just wondering if people have opinons on how much better it is now, since that was quite a while ago. In comparison, I'm thinking of the older Arturia synths versus the new improved versions, etc.Jirka108 wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 8:58 am Reason 13 $200

Reason is definitely better suited for music-making and creative work.Examigan wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 3:33 pmThere is an upgrade path from any version for $75. The built-in instruments have always been one of Reason’s strongest points, and yes — they have been improved over the years. Devices like Thor, Subtractor, Malström, the samplers, and newer instruments all benefit from better sound quality, workflow tweaks, and overall integration. It’s not just the same old stuff frozen in time.
When I’m working with audio or mixing, Cockos Reaper is still my number one choice for speed and usability. You can assign any action — or even an entire chain of actions — to a hotkey and just fly through the process
That said, starting with Reason 12–13, they clearly began paying more attention to usability. Basic actions that used to take 10 unnecessary mouse clicks now take 2–3, which is a big improvement.
So compared to many years ago, Reason today feels much more polished and modern — especially on the creative side. It may not replace Reaper or Cubase for heavy mixing for everyone, but as a music-making environment, it’s in a much better place now.

Thank you, everyone!
It's been a great year. JRR changed a lot. We grew in some ways and shrunk in others, all for the better. Out of our 27 years, this is the best team so far.

UVI Vector Pro is very nice at $19.00. AudioDeluxe. If you have DeluxeBucks it's even better.

One of the cool things about newer versions of Reason (in my opinion) is the Reason Rack Plugin. This lets you access Reason's instruments and effects (including the entire Rack Extension ecosystem) in your DAW of choice as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin.Examigan wrote: Wed Dec 24, 2025 3:33 pm I had tried it many years ago, mainly just for Thor, and it seemed pretty good. I don`t need Reason itself, but was wondering if I can buy any of their Rack Extensions.. and use them in my Reason 11 `Lite` Rack. Still, Reason 13 for $200 is tempting..waxtrax wrote: Thu Dec 25, 2025 11:23 am One of the cool things about newer versions of Reason (in my opinion) is the Reason Rack Plugin.
