What do you mean by "exactly"? I can play the same note on three guitars all made of wood, all with the same model strings and pickups. They all sound like guitars. Does it mean so much to some, that they can clam a $60 software program is equal to a $600 synthesizer and believe it? Unreal!

Sample rate by definition means that it's on part of the time and off part of the time.. That means there are holes in the signal. Digital siginal processing also adds aliasing to the original signal. It adds stuff that isn't there and leaves out stuff that is. Can not, no way, not even... be "exactly" the same. The good thing is that it cost $60 bucks, it won't break down and it's close enough for a mixed mp3. You got what you paid for so be happy. :)

Im sorry that your synths dont sound real. Can you define what 'real' sounds like. Obviously you consider that analog synths sound 'real', but that doesnt actually help...
i affort very much, master my songs, compress the synths and add effects like echo, reverb and flanger and delay and they still don't sound like released psytrance songs at all,
If your tracks dont sound like released psytrance songs at all, then perhaps your mastering, compressing, echo, and flanger and delay are all done in such a way as to not sound like released psytrance songs. Is that possible?
but for example the aoudiorealism bassline through it's sequenzer sounds very well, i did a song with it and other synths, mastered everything and ABL sounds well and like the real synth in the song,

Yes. Clearly only TB303 emulations sound like real instruments. You will need to buy real instruments for all the other real instrument sounds to sound like 'released psytrance songs'.

Baniev, a lot of today's psytrance is made with soft only!
You just need to learn how to beef up your sounds with the right FX (Compression, Distortiom/Tube, Reverb, EQ) etc...
You could also buy an Access Virus which is the most frequently used synth in Psy. It has a very distinctive sound which no soft sounds exactly like it. If you rather stay soft then get a cheap Powercore Element and buy the Virus plug for it. I have it and it sounds great (same as the hardware).

Isn't the Virus software powered ? A bloke at the music shop trying one told me it was a physical modelling synth.

And aren't the Nords also software powered ?

Of course they are. They're a bunch of algorithms running on DSP chips and don't have any real advantage to VSTis other than lots of dedicated DSP power.
But please reserve the use of "physical modelling" for synthesis that tries to emulate acoustic phenomena such as the vibration of air within a pipe, because that's what people know it as.

So what software synthesis is used in the Viruses then ? I just repeat what I have been told by someone who was into buying one at the shop.

Also I'd be asking something else. In a proper hardware synth, what do I actually get to hear ? Amplified and modified noise of the electrons in the semiconductors ?

VirusOS is no intrisically different than Windows + a VSThost I guess.

Your answer is just like if i asked what software synthesis is used in "any VSTi name" and you'd answer me VST in Windows. A bunch of code running on a processor.

digital synths can be very 'pure,' which was a great ocntrast back in the old days, but if you come up in it it can sound boring, plain - learn to make parts work together, then learn to add effects..

..or do it the other way aorund, really.. point is, break it down into secitons.

if your music doesn't sing, don't blame the instrument. old hands will generally attest 'very true.'

all this new digital stuf kicks ass. respect the art.. take time to discover subtleties. don't expect it to spring to life under a new hand..

Not the thermal noise, but patterns of electron current flow and voltages developed across loads. IIRC, electron thermal emission does contribute a significant amount of (unwanted) noise to analog signals. But off the top of my head I couldn't tell you how much.

I just noticed that cantrip don't sound bad at all for trance, the sound is smooth and full, i never worked with it because the knobs are almost invisible
I´m on f**king fire!
