That's too bad it doesn't work on your machine man...

It seems strange that it works fine on my AMD Opteron processors. Must be a difference with the athalon and opteron models that's causing T to have trouble with your system. What MoBo do you have?

Bah, now you tell me! ;)

JUUuuust got the X2 3800 today. Wasn't hoping for dual-core, just for it to run on one core. Now you say it might not work at all? <grumble>

Won't be able to let you know how it goes for at least a few hours. Need some sleep before work and a few more threads to check still.

Sounds bloody awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on it. All the new stuff is mouth watering. I hope they've improved the midi editor and give us the drum editor grid!!! Nice one lads. Release dates ASAP. Cheers. :D

Checking threads? Isn't that the program/OS's job?

Oh, you mean KVR threads.

Yes please that will do nicely.

A bit lame, yeah, but I've been up for about 20 hours, and I'm not going to get any sleep for probably another 16. Why do I do this to myself?

All very nice and desirable but...

That's actually the sane way to do it (not the CPU meter, running on a thread-per-track basis). I suspect that running on some other basis, eg thread-per-plugin would have a few repercussions which would not be desirable in an audio situation (eg implications for timing, PDC, gapping, adding and removing plugins while playing, all sorts of things) that would require very complex code to compensate for. That complexity would potentially mean more bugs, more 'marginal' problem cases, et.c.
thread-per-track is intrinsically simpler and less problematic, IMO...
An idiot on Set Theory:

Concerning the timestretching algorithm, I am hoping that you can select between the different types of material ie solo, poly and beats. The 'one type fits all' algo is always a compromise in quality.

I wonder which algorithm they have gone for, a commercial one like Z-Plane elastique or maybe Izotope ?

Finally, can we assume REX is actually REX2 ?

Thank you.

Great feature list...any Dual core support?

Post

Well, Tracktion 3 has many improvements but what happen with midi improvements? Tracktion 2 midi features need to improve a lot.

I stoped using tracktion for this simple reason... All the music you see on my site is made with Trackion 2 that's why i'm a little bitter on this subject.

I really hope i will be able to use T3...
So i would like to information about this.

Does it not work if it is assigned affinity to one particular core in the task manager either?
