hey isnt it sorta moot what its called? why not let the software justify the name? isnt uniqueness more important than accessibility?
how about mute?
mutracks is horrible if you ask me.

Names are important - without them, the phonebook would only be a book full of numbers.

I kinda liked MuStation - although most ideas are going to sound like a word with a cow at the start.
I also don't like MuTracks for some reason. It sounds like a good name for the next Tracker program or something - I don't know.
Hey Jo - how about MuJo (like Mojo only Mu-ified).
Regards

No. And if people can't remember it they will perhaps not use it (they won't find it in google> DiGiT < wrote:i mean call it anything. it will eventually define (or defile) the name. dont you agree?

Isn't that one of those sub-atomic particles that suddenly vanishes from existence for no apparent reason?Meffy wrote:Anyone suggested Mutrino?

Still like what "amused" dared to propose - "Muzysian" or "Musician".
Muzysian would be more specific for search engines imho.
Its a real word starting with mu, where the Mu does not look so forced onto.
And what's so bad when the author has the same forum name as his program.
It's as nice a forum name as it would be for the app.

well of course you would pick something memorable. im just saying if you picked something like muzak, even tho some of you think its lame, the program would lend new meaning to the word in the long run. and isnt muzak memorable?vervex wrote:No. And if people can't remember it they will perhaps not use it (they won't find it in google> DiGiT < wrote:i mean call it anything. it will eventually define (or defile) the name. dont you agree?)
i disagree that people wont use it based on a name. thats not at all why i pick my software. (unless we are talking about fruityloops, which i avoid like the plague simply because of the name)

This is likely no help but if a MU word it must be, well here are a few with various degrees of absurdity. Hope there's a chuckle in it somewhere. main source: webdictionary.co.uk
From The arts.....
Definitions of muse
- in ancient Greek mythology any of 9 daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne
- the source of an artist's inspiration
too bad those Receptor folks beat it to press first.
MUsingly
- in a reflective manner
MUsic of the spheres
- an inaudible music that Pythagoras thought was produced by the celestial bodies
And science of course....
MUon
- an elementary particle with a negative charge and a half-life of 2 microsecond
already used too bad.
Here's 4 that actually apply to this light, quick, mutating app
MUton
- the smallest unit of DNA where a mutation can occur
MUtant
- tending to undergo or resulting from mutation
MUltivalent
- (genetics)the association of three or more homologous chromosomes during the first division of meiosis
nice thought, kind of reminds one of an early musical idea at inception, but too little jingle, too much word
MUtatis MUtandis
- with the necessary changes having been carried out kinda like Luna pr4c prior to the grand opening
"Hey John," Arty quiped over his frosty pint "How's yer breakbeat coming, bound to be smash, with your using 'MUtatis MUtandis'..." No probably not catchy enough
MUltiplexer
- a device that can interleave two or more activities.... good thought no hook.
From Nature..
Here's one I thought surely was to do with music but no..
MUsa
genus of the Musaceae: bananas
The world beat. Tapping my foot already.
musnud
- a seat with a cushion that is used as a throne by Indian princes
MUzhik
- a Russian peasant (especially prior to 1917) sounds a little like Muzak or Music.
MUztagh Ata
a mountain peak in the Kunlun range in China (24,760 feet high)
Gets ridiculous, leaves MuSession and such. well MUton maybe but then it would be called Mutton, not so good!
