I've actually been enjoying that feature. I very much hope it stays.fabi wrote:if anyone dislikes that feature, please do say so - i don't want to push anything the rest of you hate.

and a question - what does the 'power' button do? in bidule it doesn't seem to do anything. i thought it would mute/turn off BDM, but I can play no matter if it's turned off or on.
I did read the short guide, but I didn't come across that - sorry if it's already in there.

and I can confirm that it doesn't happen when you click the pads with the mouse, only with midi notes sent to BDM.
thanks for your feedback, bobsled - i still like it, too.

fabi wrote:okay, I don't know if this is the same 'pad doesn't notice note-off' bug as mentioned before, but I get it in bidule.
BUT only, if the master chaos is above 50% - so it could be related to the misfiring feature that kicks in above 50%.
if anyone dislikes that feature, please do say so - i don't want to push anything the rest of you hate. but i think if it's left in it would be useful if the pad lights up that gets triggered by accident so you can see more closely what may be going on.
then again, maybe it's good broken as it is.

yes it turns off the stereo out, not the 4 mono outs, it should workfabi wrote:and a question - what does the 'power' button do? in bidule it doesn't seem to do anything. i thought it would mute/turn off BDM, but I can play no matter if it's turned off or on.

Using BDM's MIDI Learn, I assigned a controller dial to Power. Really drove the volume the more I cranked the dial. Hadn't noticed that before.fabi wrote:and a question - what does the 'power' button do? in bidule it doesn't seem to do anything. i thought it would mute/turn off BDM, but I can play no matter if it's turned off or on.

he..he... an hidden trick, actually Power is not really usefull until you find a way to use it, or simply ignore itbobsled wrote:Using BDM's MIDI Learn, I assigned a controller dial to Power. oh - cool that the buttons can work as sliders via midi.bobsled wrote:Using BDM's MIDI Learn, I assigned a controller dial to Power. Really drove the volume the more I cranked the dial. another thing - isn't it a little strange to have mono outs for the drums when they all have pan knobs? it's not a big problem or anything, but if it'll be kept this way it should definitely be mentioned in the manual and/or maybe the pan knobs should go dead if 'power' is off.
just think it could confuse people.

Ah, but I'm not a betatester, which is why I was asking. Still $50 to $60 say is quite reasonable, the equivalent of a weeks worth of groceries and who needs food when you can have a drum machine instead <grin>liqih wrote:azrael the price for you 6 betatesters is zero but if anyone can afford to donate something of course that helps,
for customers the price should be about the same of DK+, still to fix though
Thanks for the info

fun fact - if the slider is above 50% notes that don't trigger any sound at all otherwise do so then.
however, can anyone explain how the keytracking is supposed to work? i didn't look at the videos yet, do they contain an example of that? i know what it's supposed to do, i just can't do it - probably something i didn't understand correctly.

liqih - using the latest patch I was not able to replicate the previously mentioned "pop then cpu hang" issue. The hit button's note-off issue is still present.

bobsled wrote:btw is Pluginccmap.bin responsible for remembering the Learned assignments between sessions?
yes, BTW I wrote a different MIDI Learn code in BDM compared to my previous plugins, please test it deeply, <grin>
actually it's mix of the EVE and Modelonia MIDI Learn systems

you trigger a pad with one of its trigger notes, if KEYTK is on you can user the upper keys (see KeyMap) to change the pitchfabi wrote:fun fact - if the slider is above 50% notes that don't trigger any sound at all otherwise do so then.

works thus far. haven't tried sending on different channels, yet, but between sessions/hosts seems to work.liqih wrote:bobsled wrote:btw is Pluginccmap.bin responsible for remembering the Learned assignments between sessions?

very minor bug: upon first loading BDM into a host you still have to double-click on the 'on' button of a pad for it to turn off.
