I've noticed lots of plugs made with SM do not play well with other plugs.
These instances are hard to verify but I an slowly compiling a list of the offenders, instead of my more normal instinctive action of uninstalling said offender.

So far no crashes but the spectrum analyzer GUI window always opens upon opening a saved file with it inserted. Anywhere.

Seems to be a slightly non-normal operation for any plug to immediately display it's GUI without me, the user, asking it to do so.

It is supposed to open only if left opened previously. Unfortunately this highly depends on the way the host handles presets (their saving/loading order in particual) so it may not work properly everywhere (Btw., which app do you use? And is "Use presets to manage display appearance" in the "Preferences" On or Off?)

Well, it certainly does do that ok... still it's a very unusual 'feature' that none of my other plug-ins exhibit.

I use the highly unusual MakingWaves Studio V5.4 and V6 so comparison to other hosts might not be so gud.
This host has most times handled plugins other hosts have issues with.

The saved file opens with the Analyzer screen with the preferences off.

Ah, you're right - this definitely appears to be a bug (i've just tried it out with some other hosts and it's the same story there). It was supposed to never open on its own with the option turned off (until the host launches the "main" window).
Meanwhile you could try it with the option turned on (if you did not tried that already of course. I don't know details about MakingWaves - but maybe (just maybe) the window will start to behave a bit more predictable then).

tried that several times... makes no difference. The file opens and the analyzer window pops up at it's default size without the preference screen no matter how I previously saved the file.

Thanks

Hi Max,
wonderfullll plug!
really a pleasure to work with. Possibly the more friendly VST analyzer I've used. Thx a lot.
Unfortunately, in my PC (Win XP SP2, Cubase 5.1, every kind of plugin working fine) I get an annoying issue: the "configuration" form cannot load - the window flashes for just an instant then disappears. Then I am forced to use the default config.
I'm afraid it's a problem strictly related to my machine, but... do you have any hints? anyway many thx again for your work!
(with the default config your analyzer it's anyway a GREAT plug!)

Thanks!

Regarding your problem, yeah - it's strange indeed (considering that this window uses no non-standard features), i haven't seen similar reports so far. (Btw. is it the whole window that disappears? or Cubase's own container frame stays and only the "settings" content is lost?)

Either way, i’m working on the (relatively major) update (i don't expect it earlier than middle of the March though) where all those windows go upside down. I guess certain issues will disappear on their own (another issues will rise though).

Is the whole window that disappeasr. Loading the plgin I can see just the frame for a nanosecond or so  then the analyzer is shown.
Anyway, the major update is great news, can't wait... thx again

I just downloaded your espectrum analyzer yesterday to master my track . afer few attemps of rebooting my Pc it finally worked. i used other spectrum analyzer before but i think this one is the most friendly and accurate way of monitoring my Tracks . Thanks so much for creating such a simple and effective tool for us . the only thing that i would request is to fix the bug where it freezes when i use the plug in as an insert.
thanks so much :)
