I'm afraid a single instance of stutter edit would only prolong your misery. However, if you layered...say...eight instances...you would come to the point where the given track would be unrecognizable.
If T-Pain gets his own copy, we're in serious T-t-t-t-t-t-t-rouble. :bang: :drunk: :x

Some stuttering maybe ?

tried it for about an hour and I'm a bit disappointed.
The GUI indeed looks nice but in the long run the combination of dark colours and very small fonts are stressful for the eyes.
If it's really intuitive is hard to tell after an hour but my first impression says it's the same effort to get good results out of it like with Artillery2 or the Finger. Additionally I really miss a Pitch device in the stutter mode.
I also couldn't find any indication for automation support (at least Reaper doesn't show a single parameter for automation) so it seems like you have to do this all inside Stutter Edit.
Soundwise I couldn't get anything out of it that couldn't also be done with Artillery2 or the Finger.

Cheers,
Doc

Couldn't sleep this morning, so I spent a while putting some of the Jody Wisternoff loops through the Stutter Edit demo. Nothing fancy, just three loops (synth, bass, drums) with SE applied to the synth in the first part and drums starting around 2:00.

I've got to say that, while I agree that this doesn't seem to do much that other glitch/stutter plugins can, I actually like the interface much better and it's more straightforward to use. I also like that Izotope gives you a 10-day unlimited trial where nothing seems to be crippled, just a splash screen to remind you. So, I can actually try to get some real results out of it then decide if it's worth the $149. I was thinking no, but after using the demo I'm thinking yes....but, we'll see in 10 days.

cool demo :)

Judging only by the demos -not only yours Cryo-, the sound is a bit cleaner than artillery, and filters do sound different.

Anyway I just love this kind of tools. Should complete more than compete with my artillery :)

Started programming on a second set today, here is a demo processing a simple cello sequence with 12 snapshots from the new set "Instrument Manglers"

Damn, I love these glitch, stutter and cut-up effects. But (big but), I've already got: Artillery, Effectrix, Sequent, Automaton, Replicant... not to mention the excellent LiveCut and KTGranulator, plus the Melda Production FX bundle.... and not discounting the Ableton stuff... I think I'm well covered here. Agree on the sound: excellent and transparent, but that's not going to be enough to get me off of the fence. Looking at the competition, it's way too pricey - guess the "BT" tag upped the cost a bit.

99$ and I'd gladly succumb to GAS. 249$ regular price is plain ridiculous.

Easy solution. A quick sale of this lot and a simple purchase of Stutter Edit and you're done ;)

... Mr Transeau buys the expensive hairspray, give him a break! :hihi:

The price seems very high. I'm getting that is because the cut BT is getting. I may pick it up before the intro period runs out, but stutter is not one of my favorite effects. IMHO, BT shows us how to overuse it.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.
