Yes apart from the preset browser being in a stupid place. Would be better if they provided the presets as aupresets.
Ok yeah, I see. Thanks mate for the cue. With sample import now in, I'm reconsidering the possibility to buy it...

Just installed Padshop Pro. Now there's a lot of doubles in the list of presets - almost as if the installer didn't overwrite the old presets, but just added the same presets twice... weird..
music // twolegs // geometriae
sounddesign // twolegstoneworks

The Cubase 6.5 demo includes Retrologue and Padshop (non-Pro) from what I've heard. Not that it's a very convenient solution...
Hardware: Akai MPK61, MFB-Synth II, Roland JX-8P, Virus TI Snow, KORG MS2000R, Roland SH-01
Favorite software: Sylenth1, Synth1, Messiah, ME80, OPX-Pro II, Zebra 2, Diva, Reason, Studio One V2 Pro

In case you don't know, the installation disc contains installers for a lot of the older plug-ins that are no longer standard. Hypersonic, Groove Agent, Monologue, and Double Delay are all still working great for me.

Are you missing anything from Zebra when you get Diva? Not really, in terms of features. So it comes down to the sound and whether you like what you hear. That, as I'm sure you're aware, is subjective and a question which can only be sensibly answered by yourself. My opinion? It's a nice VA. On the clean side without getting the mod matrix/distortion involved, and I don't think you'd be missing a huge amount without Retrologue given what you have.
i dont feel im missing anything from what i already have....i dont actually use most of what i have. I guess these days i look for quality, sound and easy of use. I lose inspirtation with synths that are over complex. I notice a trend of simpler synths coming out now, they atract me more.

dumb question, based on an earlier comment...

will these only work with Cubase for some reason?

Post

I think the initial Padshop release was a VST 3 standard plugin, which I believe only Cubase supports currently. The Padshop Pro release states that it will work with any VST 2 or VST 3 compatible host on Windows 7, or VST 3 or AU hosts on a Mac.

Studio One V.2 also can run VST3 plugins.

FL Studio too. And of course Nuendo.

And the free VSThost.

They work just fine outside of Cubase. I've got Retrologue running in Chainer right now. Did a quick check in FL Studio and it works fine there, too.
VST PRESETS ---> http://xenossoundworks.com
Bazille, NI Massive, Z3ta, PPG Wave, TAL-J8, RePro, Diva, Spire and more

cool, thanks!

really nice prices for all of these.

as someone asked before, how different would Padshop be from NI's Skanner?

Very. Seriously, a boat and a car.

Does anyone know if the same Soft eLicenser can be used on a PC and also on a Laptop (not in use at the same time) ?
I can't seem to find any info on the Steiny site about this.

It would be a bit crap if I had to buy another PadShop to run on my Laptop... :(
