I'm confused now. Does diva update need to come out after satin? I hope a diva beta comes out first!

Diva's sequencer turned out to be a tough one. Slight feature changes were followed by huge changes in UI. Add to that any special requirements of major hosts to have MIDI sequences dragged into their track windows... there you go, nearly finished in April, then a moving target till now. Currently awaiting final graphics.Echoes in the Attic wrote:I'm confused now. Does diva update need to come out after satin? I hope a diva beta comes out first!

Understandable, no worries! I just hope it doesn't get pushed back for Satin, that's all. Only because I firmly believe that it's more torturous for those of us with Diva, knowing what we're about to add to it, then it is for those awaiting satin, which is completely new.Urs wrote:Diva's sequencer turned out to be a tough one. Talking boolean algebra, the two aren't XOR, but rather OR. This is mainly due to project assignment. Clemens is the Diva master while I'm the Satin slut.Echoes in the Attic wrote:I just hope it doesn't get pushed back for Satin, that's all.

As far as I can tell, the sequencer will be pretty sophisticated and its full potential might escape an ordinary end user's attention easily without some kind of introduction, instructions and practical tips. So, could it possible to get a playlist of tutorial videos about the sequencer in the fashion of Ace tutorial videos?Urs wrote:Diva's sequencer turned out to be a tough one. And my profuse apologies for increasing your workload with a question like this

Very likely to happen. Although based on the little SH101 arp/sequencer, their implementation in Diva goes a little bit (cough) further.W1lh wrote:As far as I can tell, the sequencer will be pretty sophisticated and its full potential might escape an ordinary end user's attention easily without some kind of introduction, instructions and practical tips. Those Ace tutorials were truly helpful - absolutely one of the best video tutorials ever made. I loved their succinct style so much and they should function as a model example of how those tutorials are supposed to be made.
Let me tell you why:
Most of video tutorials are ruined by an annoying voice-over that wastes our time with idiotic platitudes (welcome, see you next time, thanks for watching) and babble instead of making us focused on the sound immediately. Even worse, voice-overs are de-essed and comped very rarely and their overall sound quality makes them painful to listen to and many of them speak with thick accents that are hard to understand for most of foreign English speakers and a big number of North American watchers.
Today's computer musicians are spoiled with some amazing superb soft synths but most of them would deserve a lot better tutorials and introductory material (plus documentation in some cases).
